Have y'all never been in a fight before? This doesn't take like an understanding of the legal system. Just an understanding of how fights work in real life. If you punch a guy to where it leaves injuries, there's almost a guarantee that hand is going to have evidence of the punch. That's also ignoring the evidence of the injuries and trauma inflicted from the punch on the boyfriend in the scenario.

Then who knows what happens. Maybe he says something that inflames the situation and spontaneous "correction" occurs. Or perhaps he gets inebriated and falls on his face.
