It’s definitely a ME problem. I subverted by checking in online and sending him the digital key

In the early 00's there were a lot of nice condos that me and friends tried renting for spring break or summer trips on the gulf coast Florida area, and you had to be 25.

Exact same time frame and years for me. We rented a huge beach house but we were age 19-20. One of our friends was dating a 26 year old girl. She had to sign for us to be approved. Fun trip.

We were very very respectful to the place and neighbors and kept our noise level low.

That works.

Is it a Marriott place? I’m sure others offer similar check-ins by now though.

Some places you have to be 25 to check in yourself. Mainly because people 21 still tend to have extremely immature behavior and they don’t want them trashing their establishment without older supervision. I guess by 25 they feel like most people mature enough to be able to act right.

I was the GM of a 50 unit hunnert dollar hotel for quite some time. We didn’t have a hard and fast rule on age; we based it on how the kid looked.

Your kid looks unrentable.

When I was in college, many hot spots were 26 or older.

It’s nothing new although I think it should fall under discrimination. Either you’re an adult or you aren’t. I believe private businesses should not have the government tell them what to do, but if you can’t discriminate based on race or sexuality, then how can you do so based on age?

I used to get hotels while driving across the country at 18,19,20.

Maybe shite has changed??
Maybe, because it's French Quarter?

It is. In America, private companies like hotels get set their own rules for who they can admit.

Um, to a degree... remember pre-civil rights? Can't do that kinda thing anymore...

this is not a recent regulation. It's been around a long time.
