Might help cut out the giant donut marks across six lanes from when it turns into an HBCU racetrack after dark

The federal government should not be paying for local roads.
It's considered a state highway. I guess that's closer to federal.

The traffic is worse BECAUSE there's a wide open suicide lane.
come visit Range Avenue and we can have this debate. It will definitely reduce accidents, but I'm skeptical about traffic flow.

Considering my wife was hit head on and t-boned at that very spot several months ago because a non-English speaking person with no license or insurance caused a wreck that could have maimed or killed four other people, I’m good with it.
Now, can we work on getting unqualified drivers off the roads, too?

Yup, and they'll b*tch about California in the same breath. Cali is a net giver while LA is a welfare queen like you said.
I am amazed that many of you can’t see what’s going on in states like CA, MN, NY, etc. Their Governors and state agencies have developed and look the other way regarding systematic programs of fraud to receive massive federal dollars that are claimed to be legitimate but in fact are frauds perpetrated on the federal govt. This promotes the economies of their states on the backs of taxpayers in LA. These fraud dollars do not show up on the books as the state receiving a direct fed government benefit that is used to determine net givers or receivers.
I give you the “reimbursements” for legitimate expenses paid to all of the Learing Centers in MN as an easy example.
If the fed govt is going to allow and fund massive cheating with no repercussions, then LA needs to get better at it.

Someone is about to make a good bit of money from this, and the people who paid for it will get very little improvement in their daily lives.

As long as the lanes at the interstate stay ridiculous and go right into target, Siegen is gonna stay awful

$19 million= $1 million for the road. $18 million in impact studies and bribes.

I can assure you many of the signs that st George put up were on poles with no signs or damaged signs that EBR never replaced.

They need to cut on ramps from the Aldi/TW lot and so that whole complex can get to the interstate without going back to Siegen.

that will do absolutely NOTHING to alleviate traffic

A bomb is the only thing that could improve that area. Or tornado.

Maybe so, but the suicide lanes on such a busy road are a pretty severe problem. I’ve almost been in multiple wrecks on this road because of it.
For the most part the suicide lanes need to be replaced by defined left turn lanes.
Defined right turn lanes need to be added in key spots.
Dedicated bus “inlets” might work.
Some private entrances off Siegen need to be closed and designated side streets improved.
The current design is an cluster and I commend SG for addressing it.

If under direction of Movebr, it will totally be wasted. Program has been a complete failure in comparison to the Green Light Plan.

City officials said the project will improve approximately 1.35 miles of Siegen Lane by advancing street components, including landscaped raised medians, upgraded signal systems, continuous side paths and pedestrian crossings, upgraded transit stops, and enhanced lighting.
It will never be ready in time and it will make traffic worse.

Half of that is about to go into some pockets. The other half to a bro-in-law contractor who will take twice as long, do a shitty job, and be well over budget.

St. George is just new people grifting the same old shite. Our dreams of something better went up in flames with ‘closed door meetings’ and crap like this. Louisiana is going to Louisiana.
Posted on 7/15/26 at 7:40 pm to Tigeralum2008
I'll just be repeating others...........that crap ain't what Siegen Lane needs. Just start off with several more cops. And tell people don't try to make that left turn thru 6 lanes after waiting 10 mins and think you're gonna make it. Just turn at a light or make a right and U turn down the road. Some of these women can't seem to go even if you let them out.

Props to STG for taking action after EBR did nothing
Except build it from a two lane road to a six lane road while working with developers to make it one of the city's largest retail districts.

Siegen Lane from Airline to I-10 is the largest waste of concrete in EBR Parish. They built seven lanes with little thought, striped it, and said have at it.
