I umpire softball and football. Made 67k last year between weekly games and weekend tournaments.

There are businesses here (like landscaping and tree service) paying $20 an hour to put flyers on mailboxes and doors.
Uber if you live near a major airport.

I work 14/14 and I started my own aerial video/ photography & Inspection business. I liked flying drones and decided to make some extra cash doing it. I use the 2 weeks I'm home to mainly fly and complete the on site portion of the jobs. Then I go offshore and put everything together. I also do all of the drone inspections for the platform I work on.
Moving into mapping and 3D modeling in the very near future to bump the numbers up. The last 3 jobs I've had have been $2500, $1950, and $1000. Its not making me rich (yet) but I get paid to go do something I have fun doing.

I drive ride-share. Yes, people crap on it. Yes, it would be horrible for a long-term job. But, if you take the right trips (likely having an acceptance rate under 50%) and go online at the right times, you can make a lot of cash very quickly. Plus, you're on your own schedule versus someone else's.
Yes, there's some wear and tear on your vehicle and more gas expenses, but if you're strategic about the trips you're taking and you aren't doing it all day every day, then it's really not a big deal.
If you're accepting every ride and taking a $10 trip out to the middle of nowhere with no chance of getting a return trip, then it's a waste of time.
It also depends on if you're in a major city or somewhere with less Uber/Lyft traffic. Doing it in a big city is a much better idea than doing it in a random smaller town.

Not reading this whole thread but try Amazon Flex. You use your own car to drive around delivering packages. Usually pays $20+ an hour.
I did it during covid when work was slow, I’d get a 3 hour block done in 2 hours and you still get paid for the whole thing. Made about $65-70 every time and you get paid twice a week.

How many miles did you average in 2 hours?

Not many because they group all the deliveries close together in residential areas. One time I had a three hour block and almost the whole thing was within one big apartment complex.
Don’t get the four hour blocks though, they pay a little more but it’s for driving distance, not number of packages delivered. Number of packages is pretty constant at about 27-30.

I knew the head of the local association. You just have to find out who that is.
