I mean, I had to Google her.
"Celeb" would be pushing it, IMO.
'Course everybody gets their 15 minutes, I guess.
Jenny Finch is way more known than half the people you call celebs.
My daughter played with a Jenny Finch bat just 2 years ago.
Her time was before Social Media though.

Their house is quite a bit larger than any dream home not to mention it's on some acreage. See them around town and other than her height, they blend in well.

She's arguably the greatest female softball player in history. What are you known for, guy?

Now people are upset when wealthy people buy raffle tickets for charity? Damn people are so jealous.

Well except some sorry son of a bitch thought it a good idea to build that beautiful home in Shreveport, or cruel joke.
What is it with you and Shreveport? Did you get cucked there or something? What sh*thole do you live in that makes you want to bash Shreveport everyday?
Shreveport "son of a bitches" started the St. Jude Dream House concept that is now replicated throughout the country raising millions for kids with cancer. Secondly, this particular home is in Benton, a rural and more affluent community in Bossier Parish.

I don't think people are upset about that. I think they forget that in an extreme outlier (like this case) a well off person wins we are conditioned to believe a poor should win because it would be more life-changing to them.

Yeah this is yet another thread where the self proclaimed hardcore conservatives show themselves to be quite liberal.

For a fundraiser? Poor people can't afford one ticket. That's gas or grocery money
People with money but these tickets.

Very true, but let's be honest here when you see something like HGTV home giveaway or a charity house giveaway, does your mind immediately go to the well off family or to the broke as frick family you know could use that house?
As I said, it's just conditioning. You are completely correct in your statement. Poor people can't afford these tickets ergo already removes them from any probability.

She can't win for losing.
She buys tickets to help a good cause, she gets criticized when she happens to win.
If she doesn't buy tickets, she gets criticized for not sharing her "wealth".

These are free though.
He's got a point. Not sure how much they are now, but the St Jude tickets were $100 when I was there. Poor people ain't spending that.

I get it. But those are totally different kind of situations. The St Jude thing was around around pre HGTV and I'm an older dude, so I suppose it makes more sense to me.
They've raised almost 30 million for St Jude's in Shreveport with this project over the years. Dr Mack was my younger brothers doc back in the day.

Why would rich people be able to win that?
Because they bought their raffle tickets just like everyone else?

Now that is like everything the contest is not for. It's for people to donate, and have a chance to win a house they could never afford.
and likely still can't. I read something about the extremely low number of the winners actually get the house. They have to write a huge arse check for taxes which they often don't have.
They call the person on the day of the drawing then mail them an acceptance letter which the winner has 7 days to return. They must pay the taxes before they take possession of the house and most of them are going to be in the $150k range. Unless you can get that kind of money together in a week, you aren't getting the house.
