Drank enough beers at the little Golf Course over near Cross Lake to float a ship in the 90's. The back 9 was all par 3's and lit up with stadium lights, we could get in 27 holes after work

Racquetball at Ichiban Fitness Center against the local news guy, Rick Rowe.

Shreveport Captains baseball

This song playing on loop for a week before Tux99 started,
"They're coming to take me away! Haha! They're coming to take me away..." and little Kenny Wayne Shepherd's dad being a DJ.

Josh Booty was gonna be LSU's savior in football.

that's a shame, that place was actually fairly historic, the Babe Ruth/Lou Gehrig era Yankees played there

Uhh. Babe Ruth died I 1948, Fair Grounds Field opened in 1985.

Ruth and the Yankees did come to Shreveport in 1921 but that was at Gassers Stadium which was razed and rebuilt as Spar Stadium in 1935. The grandstands of Spar Stadium are still standing.

My family held the family reunion there for a few years. Geographically it made sense. We would go to Boothill Speedway and watch the races. That’s about all I remember.

The arcade/pool hall on Mansfield road-the name escapes me

Pizza King - stuffed pizza

George’s - steak sandwich

Freeman and Harris - stuffed shrimp

The Cub - having Jake bring drinks to under age kids in the car
Later, great burritos
Later, steak and au gratin potatoes

Herby K’s - talking sports with Jimmy Jenkins, shrimp buster, frozen goblet of beer

Humpfree’s - Otis Wheat band, A Train, Zorro and the Blue Footballs

Big D’s Cherry Blossom Cocktail Lounge and Bavarian Beer Garden

Rusty Nail - Trout Fishing in America, Jim and Julie

Guys and Doll’s - old time pool hall

Centenary Oyster House

... then moved away!

Hit my only hole in one ever there. Except, it was on the wrong green.

Has anyone mentioned Chef Jake and the rumor that he and Ed Duranczyk were gay?

The original Abe’s was sold and they changed the name to Bookers and opened downtown. Booker was the head cook at Abe’s when Abe Ritman owned it.

Does anyone know the name of the bar/restaurant on Youree Drive in the late 80’s where Imperial Cathay Is now? Seems like it was “Two Something”.

I remember me and a drunk buddy hassling Ed Duranczyk at the old Burger King that was at the corner of Youree and Southfield. He got pissed.
