The oil bust in 1982 destroyed the local economy and the jobs left in droves, I was one of those unfortunate jobless movers. Shreveport never fully recovered from that until the Shale boom but most of us never came back. Very sad days! ...

Does anyone know the name of the bar/restaurant on Youree Drive in the late 80’s where Imperial Cathay Is now? Seems like it was “Two Something”....

The original Abe’s was sold and they changed the name to Bookers and opened downtown. Booker was the head cook at Abe’s when Abe Ritman owned it....
