Supposed to play there in an NSU fundraiser on a weekday. Left at 5am to get there and it was rained out. Walked around the clubhouse and it was pretty interesting with Hal Sutton memorabilia all over the walls. One course that got away from my play.
Went to the Horseshoe a won 400.00 at the craps table. It worked out.

Sam Jenkins sounds more plausible and threatening in his tv interview regarding the fire than the Hebrews.

There’s been several fires at old Shreveport landmarks in recent years.

old GM plant:

Old Humprees and Chicago nightclub:

Superior Grill

old Don’s Seafood

People can move out of Shreveport, but the buildings are stuck. Their only escape is self immolation

They had one hole that had a telescope on the tee box. It had a severe dog leg right that went up hill. Only way to see if anyone was ahead of you was to use the scope.

The greens were fast as hell. Very fun course to play on.

25-30 years ago they had to have a cop in a golf cart patrolling the course because the “neighbors” would climb the fences or come through the drainage canals to rob the members while they played the course. It was a great course at one time

A piece of my childhood is now in ruins. Some of the best times as a kid were spent at the CC pool. Those were the days.

They used to have an awesome Mother's Day buffet, prime rib and all the fixins. Great memories, its disgusting we let a segment of society destroy cities.

Obama bailed out GM and then let them close the plant and ship those jobs to Mexico. That was a bodyblow for Shreveport.

It was on hole 5 as the natives felt a tax should be levied for entering into their occupied zone.

One of The biggest reasons it began to collapse was the old timers refusing to allow the youngbloods much sway in the club operations and treating them like their kids (many were) instead of equal members. That eventually led to a group led by smart real estate guy to seize upon the dissent and rally support for a new club..Sourhern Trace. He made a pretty penny in the process

Looks like a lot of hazards on that course, and getting multiple holes in one is a strong possibility.

Really was. Think at one time it had the only bent grass greens in the state. Was a very pretty lay out if you could disregard the surrounding hood. Hated to see it go under years ago but it wasn’t a surprise.
