It's time we recognize the everyday heroes such as first responders, nurses, doctors, teachers, truck drivers, grocery workers, etc. But adding a separate Heroes holiday would seem to imply that vetarans aren't heroes I'm sure veterans wouldn't mind sharing their day with other heroes when veterans are basically recognized year-round.

As a veteran, my answer is simple: No, ya moron.

I think we should have an Anti-Heroes Day.

A day for people who aren't exactly heroes, but aren't exactly villains either.

Eliminate Veterans Day. They got their money for their service.

Some also have missing limbs and shite. Yeah a measly government check can correct that though.

They signed up for it and got paid. No extra admiration is warranted. There is no draft.

You’d have to wait about 20 years until all the Vietnam vets are gone.

But by then most of the ww3 vets will be draftees so it’s pointless

Any veterans worth his salt doesn't need a "thanks for your service" or a holiday. We didn't do it for the thanks or recognition. Now Memorial Day, that's a different story.

I hope you’re not serious. Look into why November 11th is Veterans Day and then tell me what people in health care have to do with that.

There is already a nurses day amongst others.

The new Heroes Day doesn't have to be November 11. Actually, the third Monday in June would be perfect. That way it's bookended by Memorial Day and Fourth of July.
