Should someone be allowed bail after getting arrested while on bail?

My trashy step brother just got arrested for his 2nd, first DUI. Not technically his second since he hasn’t gone to court yet and been convicted for his first.
This was explained to me by his trashy, fat mom. The longer the explanation went, the more I was deciding not to help out. End of story, I was asked to help with bail, and I said no.
Why would the law allow bail to someone clearly going to continue their ways? Dude should be locked away until both cases are decided by a judge/jury.

You did right.
Hopefully your trashy step folks get offended and lose your phone number.

Yes and no.
It's proof they have no concern for the rule of law and safety of others....on the other hand....
Innocent until proven guilty. Not allowing bail on the 2nd offense while he's yet to be convicted on the 1st assumes guilt(even though I'm sure he is in this case).

That 2nd arrest should help with his defense of the 1st case.

Maybe he can get a BOGO with his attorney

You are innocent until proven guilty. Like it or not it’s one of the perks of living in a free country.

Careful, Baw. Somewhere between 40-50, your wife will transition to look like her mom does now.

I don't know if the judge will allow the prosecution to talk about the second in the first trial,
so it'll probably pop him the other way around, but yeah.

For misdemeanors, you’re generally considered still entitled to have bond set on the new charge.
With that said, the original judge can absolutely revoke his bond on the first charge, as a standard condition of bond is to “remain arrest and conviction free”.

It's his step brother, looks like his dad is the one really having it rough now.

Yes, though a higher one and unless for SEVERE charges, like both murders or rapes. They've not been convicted of anything. Doesn't mean you have to pay it.
