So if you're willing absorb multiple billions of dollars figured into your utility bill, they can change them at a quicker rate.

Aren't we basically doing that anyway every time their is a major storm ripping through the area and they have to tack on a storm recovery fee (or however they word it)

Correct. You can replace it before it falls, or after it falls. Replacing it after it falls means you might have to pay for it. Replacing it before it falls means you DEFINITELY will pay for it.

ETA: There are many storms every year that cause millions in damages that do NOT result in a storm charge. Entergy eats that cost. The only reason there will be a storm charge is because these are multi-billion dollar storms and only the federal government has access to that kind of money.

If you are correct and I don't doubt you are. Yeah they want to play that game, this is perfectly fine, I have no issue with it.

As a Conservative who is all for starving the government until it gets back in line with it's duties, I'm all for losing the revenue.

Just don't build a wall when the government hanger-ons move south.

Didn't Bill Cassidy come out and say that some of the electrical infrastructure be buried underground after Ida so to help in the rebuild after a storm? I'm sure not all of it can be buried but at least some.

When you start nitpicking like that it’s a very slippery slope ripe with complications, but not to say the entire notion is without merit.

You think people are complaining about cost right now??

As for storm costs, Entergy has already “paid” for the storm. The issue is how/if they recover the costs from customers. The proposed method is usually better for customers because instead of running it through normal rates where Entergy would get it’s full return, Entergy would just take the storm amount, go to one of the banks and finance the amount at 2-3% over 15 years and use the storm charge revenue to pay off the bond. Literally just a pass through.

Here's what I cant figure out. Well, I can, I just dont know why no one else is raising hell.

Entergy gets reimbursed those lost dollars from FEMA. That's why the send out teams of surveyors to assess the damage. I witnessed this personally during Ida recovery. 12 trucks sitting in a parking lot having a circle jerk. I asked them what the hold up was and they said they had to wait on Entergy to finish their assessment... I said "here's the assessment... everyone from that transformer down doesnt have power and there aren't any down lines." Guy responds with "we know... we drove it this morning."

It's a racket.

entergy does very little to maintain their infrastructure .

I can assure you that this is very true. They depend on insurance and government assistance to take care of them. It's sad how little they care about taking care of their stuff.

North LA has and will continue to receive far more in tax payer funding than it gives. Foster Campbell is an idiot

Before or after corporate headquarters fled La politics in NorthLa for Texas or Atlanta?

That's the most up to date information. Historically, if you look at available data, the proportion has been in that range.
