Both false. Entergy hasn't received government storm grants since Katrina and is self-insured.

Didn't Bill Cassidy come out and say that some of the electrical infrastructure be buried underground after Ida so to help in the rebuild after a storm? I'm sure not all of it can be buried but at least some.

That is true, some of the replacement infrastructure is going underground. The whole company has gone to stricter engineering and construction standards to improve storm resiliency and will be implementing a concentrated storm hardening effort in the coming years.

Only question is, how is going to be paid for. It will increase construction costs beyond what's allowed for in the approved rate.

Maybe Arkansas can invade annex North Louisiana.

South Arkansas and North Louisiana have much more in common with each other than we do with the other halves of our respective states.

This is hysterical.

Foster Campbell is the closest thing we have to a socialist in Louisiana Politics.

His entire platform is based around spreading the pain so call can prosper.

So now he wants N. LA to not have to pay for damage?

Cool. So now S. LA won't have to support N. LA anymore, right?

I'll take that deal, Foster.

What about all the damage suffered under Laura? That's bullshite. If we're on the same grid, with the same power company, it's shared by all to help recoup costs. That's like saying not wanting to pay for a bridge over the Mississippi because you'll hardly ever use it in Shreveport. Ok, frick the rest of the state because I get my commerce from the DFW area instead of South LA. That's a shite take.

He's a populist. He's going to say what gets him elected. If he was in South Louisiana his tune would be in the complete opposite key.

Apparently it works for him.

How many energy customer are in La? $1800 per customer seems a bit high, no?

I would love to give up North Louisiana to Texas and Arkansas.

Oh YES please!!!! I’d almost beg for Texas or Arky to take us now. We’re always called South Arky or East Texas anyway. Secession would be an immediate improvement.
NOTHING good comes out of BTR…..ever! Decades of shatty, corrupt, government leadership out of South La is the reason why the state is always at the bottom & why people are leaving in droves. North La is always 2nd tier compared to the South.

I feel Entergy should stop being retarded and invest in an undergrounds system that wouldnt be affected nearly as bad as an above ground system.

Is Entergy still the only Fortune 500 company headquartered in the New Orleans area? Even Monroe has or had one of those recently, which says a lot about the shitty business climate in south Louisiana.

Think about how shitty the roads and infrastructure, education is in south La. Now think about how vast majority of tax dollars go to improvement in those areas to south La. Y’all think folks in north La would be mad to join one of our other neighbors, they’d be thrilled. Those roads and bridges up there are ten times worse

As of 2020, it was Centurylink (NorthLa) and Entergy (SouthLa). I think Centurylink is still headquartered in Monroe right now but I thought I had heard they were trying to get out or they did or something.

I semi-enjoy antagonizing these threads bc everyone gets so uptight. South La definitely takes the north for granted though.

Also, back to my original statement, Shreveport and that greater part of the NW part of the state doesn't even use Entergy. If Alexandria and above were to become its own state or part of Texas, Arkansas, or even Mississippi it would be in a better place than it is now.

ETA: Alex and Shreveport both have better airports than any city here not named Nola. fwiw.

While yall bitch about North and South LA I'm sitting here wondering why any customer has to pay a surcharge for a company to repair it services. It's bullshite.
