They just left Africa. Do they deserve any more punishment ?

This sounds like a plan from the 1830’s.

Are we gonna charge them day 1? Wouldn’t they need to be here a while to pay income and property taxes? If we’re looking at just sales taxes, I don’t think that’s gonna be a windfall.

Plenty of South Africans on the NOLA Gold. Good dudes.

I know a South African who's family sold their farm and moved to the US in the 80's because they saw the writing on the wall. They had relatives in NELA, and moved there. Met their son at NLU. He moved to DFW like I had when he graduated.

When they land would they use our airports then would they need a vehicle for transportation?
Would they need food to eat? Would they buy groceries?
If they buy land would there be a realtor involved and a closing company?
If they began to farm would they buy tractors, livestock, farm equipment, trucks and fertilizer?
I'm not saying that they would immediately contribute 10 million dollars to the economy the moment they land.
But Louisianas population has only grown by 2.8% over the past 25 years and we have 60,017 less people than we had 5 years ago. We're bleeding.
Why in the world would it be a bad thing to bring over some farmers who love America, don't commit crime, produce people like Elon Musk, culturally align and will assimilate?
But yeah dude, they wouldn't be a lottery ticket- they would be an investment into our state to try and help us in the long run and have a better Louisiana in 2035. Or we could just remain stagnant, not try anything and see if somehow it gets better.

Who needs farmers when we have college football games vs ULL we can rely on

I don't see why they wouldn't be, if the stipulations are "African American" and not "black".
ETA:
1) For the short time I was single and on the apps in Chicago (during covid, unfortunately), I was chatting for a while with a South African. Great accent, very cute. I think I posted some pictures of her at some point for the baws on the food and drink board.
2) Is the S. African govt being intentionally ignorant of what happened to Rhodesia when they expelled all the colonialists and reappropriated their land (and basically the whole country and economy) to black Africans who had no idea how to manage any of it?

Lakeboy's basic philosophy is "frick you, Jack, I've got mine".

A lot of white South African farmers are big burley guys who played rugby. I would be glad to have them. Hopefully their children would play football.

The reason texas is so liberal is because all the Louisianans who can’t find a job in Louisiana move there
