Should insurance require a vehicle sticker, like registration,?

I was thinking, maybe when you get insurance every six months they send you a vehicle sticker with a color code.
Green for full coverage
Yellow for high liability
Red for minimum coverage.
No sticker for no insurance.
Maybe shame people into getting insurance, better insurance.
Way too many people with no insurance and they seem to be the worst drivers. (Judging by how cars with body damage or unrepaired cheap issues drive)
No way of knowing outside of dmv records who doesn't have insurance until they wreck you and you're trying to get money out of your uninsured motorist policy. (Basically suing yourself)

Yes to the sticker.
Some color for "dangerous driving conviction" with a number on it that relates to the the conviction type such as DUI.

I agree with the sticker idea but NOT the risk-assigned color idea.

No. We don't need anymore reasons for the police to spend all shift playing with stickers.

So you agree that certain types of people and their life decisions present higher risk. This is the precise reason that those with lower credit pay higher premiums.

Don't we have to show proof of insurance in order to get the Inspection Sticker/Brake Tag already ?

Why it won't work:
1. Stickers last longer than the minimum term that an insurance company requires to be paid up front. I.e., just like now, people will get insurance, get the sticker and then stop paying for insurance.
2. For those status seeking people, the same logic applies above to buying the high limit insurance, getting the sticker, then lowering the limits for "affordability."
3. People who don't have insurance typically aren't exactly ashamed of that fact.
4. Many people won't put the sticker on their car, some will. You'd have to pass a law requiring the sticker, which would just make it a PITA for the law abiding and accomplish nothing else.

Except there's trashy individuals out there without insurance will go get a policy (and get a sticker that shows they're covered for 6 or 12 months) just so they can get a vehicle registration, renew a drivers license, or get a brake tag....then let the insurance lapse when they don't pay the bill the following month.

100% agree. Then when you make it a law, the state will charge a $20 inspection fee each year to validate the sticker. I got an inspection sticker 2 weeks ago: blow horn, windshield wipers, left signal, right signal, brake lights--$25. Absolute waste of time and money.

Don't hate on my new job of reclaiming invalid insurance stickers. I didn't graduate high school and make 6 figures baw.

People should also have stickers similar to the marathon 26.2 decals but with their credit scores too, right?
Instead of Napoleon you should named yourself Hitler wanting to have everyone's papers on display. LA really is Trump country.

Makes the green sticker folks a target for scammers. No thanks.

Exactly. Like Ponch and John don't already have enough reasons to harass Americans as it is.
