By now you've realized that the OT is the OT. However you can accomplish all of your needs in Lakeview.

There are homes on market for less than $500k
Hynes is a good public school
You will be 30min. or less to Tulane Med.
Low crime rate relative to the rest of city.

Seriously!?
You’re going to deny that you said you were moving out!?

Not sure I can even look it up. The post was last year.
You reached the end of the rope trying to defend the city and posted that you were moving out.
Then, you changed the tune.

Old Metairie is the ticket. It can be pricey though.

New construction or new'ish homes are going to be $800,000+ easily. Hell, some dickheads listed a tear down on an oversized lot for $1M the other day.

Private school costs $15,000 for early childhood / daycare and $25,000 for 1-12.

Haynes is a good magnet school, so I hear, but they just moved somewhere.

The police department is excellent. The leadership in the community is responsive and forward thinking.

Sounds like you would be commuting to Tulane every day. I just mapped it from my house in OM and it would take approx. 15mins. to get there.

I said I would eventually move out, which we will......but I literally cannot move out of Orleans until my daughter graduates high school, so I'm not sure what you're talking about

decent elementary school district.

If you want your kids to get a good education in New Orleans then you need to send them to private school. There are plenty of catholic school options that are relatively affordable and some non religious options that are really expensive if you can swing it.

This is only true of like Newman or Country day. The average Catholic school comes in between $7-$10k.

Hard to find many other states that have this sort of impact on an entire region.

Closest I can think of is New York

Re-read my post. I quoted someone else saying 1-12 schools cost $25k and then said thats only true of Newman and CD and that most catholic schools are in the $7-$10k range...

St George's and Trinity are as high as Newman and CD. McGehee as well.

They’re a little more than that but. Get what you’re saying.

We were paying 12k for MT Carmel and even Jesuit and Brother Martin are pushing over $10k

ASH and McGehee are also well over $20k

We go to Christian Brothers and its below $10k. Not much below it for the 24-25 school year but still below it.

The price of private school in La has really price inflated.

Of course they remain packed because no one wants to be the dead beat that sends their kid to a subpar public school

The high schools are over 10k (somewhere between 11-13k) but the elementary/grammar schools are around 7-8k (other than Christian Brothers)
