Surprised the gubment hasn't figured out a way to tax us for using self checkout, as that we are providing a service

Not really on topic, but regarding the self checkout aisles it is insane that no matter when I go to the store the people trying to use them never know how to do it quick and efficiently. It's always an absolute time vampire if there isn't one open from the moment I'm ready to check out. This another common occurence that makes me believe in simulation theory. No chance real people haven't figured that shite out by now.

It’s so easy to spot the people that never had to work at a grocery store as a kid at self checkouts. Slow AF. Don’t know how to optimize bags or how to pair items, or use the fricking name system to look their produce up.

Bananas are universal 4011 BTW.

Hi

Need stuff for your boat?

This is Jimmy.

We have the complete line of outboards from Regulator and Yamaha.

We also have stuff. If you have a boat, and need stuff for it, come see us at any of our four locations in Harvey, Hammond, Empire, or Slidell.

The sooner you realize that as part of being amongst other humans we should help each other out, the sooner you would table this notion.

there needs to be some sort of incentive for customers that take the time from their already chaotic life to bag their own groceries.

The incentive is to not wait in line.

I use the self checkout to avoid the terrible employees. The worst is when I go to the self checkout and the person working it tries to ring me up at their register and start a conversation

Since nobody forces you to use self checkout why would you even bring this up.

Once amazon tears down cortana mall, I'll be getting my groceries delivered in two hours.

I'd be in favor of mandating customers get, say, a 1 or 2% discount for checking themselves out. Watch the automated machines disappear quickly then.
