Should grocery stores look into providing W-2’s for customers that use self checkout?

This technology has been around for a while now and it’s blatantly obvious that there needs to be some sort of incentive for customers that take the time from their already chaotic life to bag their own groceries.

Thoughts?

Not really on topic, but regarding the self checkout aisles it is insane that no matter when I go to the store the people trying to use them never know how to do it quick and efficiently. It's always an absolute time vampire if there isn't one open from the moment I'm ready to check out.

This another common occurence that makes me believe in simulation theory. No chance real people haven't figured that shite out by now.

The incentive is not ringing up everything and getting paid via a free item or two.

downvoting me won’t return that box of twinkies your fat arse didn’t ring up last week

Should the USPS pay me for doing their job by going to the post office to receive my packages because they refuse to deliver?

this is something my 65 year Aunt Barb would ask

“If I’m going to check myself out, I better be on the payroll!”

Do you get a w-2 for shopping for groceries? You have other options. If you use self checkout, you are choosing to because you view it as more convenient. Not following you on this one.

Perhaps a 1099 form with some sort of compensation or tax break would be the way to go for people that have to bad their own groceries?

Someone should've paid your mother to abort you and not just for services rendered for sure.

What's worse is when you are leaving one of these at a Walmart then are stopped at the door by the greeter who has to check your receipt. Friday night on my way into Nola, the dude literally tried to fo through every item and find it on the receipt. After about the 4th thing he bumbles through I took my receipt and said have a nice day. They can't chase the guy running out with a buggy full of shite but want to assure I paid for my Oreos.

The compensation is you don't have to interact with their dumb arse employees.

I like where you're going with this.

Also, have tip jars caught on with folks? I've never used one and never will.

Why do you believe that someone needs to pay you to bag your groceries?

I mean, you do understand the point of compensation right? When you check out, you’re paying for the items you want. They don’t owe it to you to bag your stuff.
