Has two semesters of Arabic at LSU. Most of my classmates were track athletes and football players. I can ask for forgiveness in Arabic if they ever invade the US.

You already exposed yourself. No need to continue.

As for your example....my experience is the opposite.
If you put the phrase "Arabic numerals" in a search engine, I would wager that you would find references to Western Arabic numerals only, with much fewer references to Eastern Arabic numerals.

Although I’m not sure what you would refer Eastern Arabic numerals as in that situation.
Eastern Arabic numerals would refer to the numbering system that developed concurrently to the Western Arabic system. There were actually three numbering systems in West Asia at the time. The Western Arabic system was used for arithmetic, there was an informal business system used through the fingers, and the sexagesimal system with numerals denoted by letters of the Arabic alphabet. That's the systems that we know of at least. Though the systems were relatively independent, al-Uqlidisi wrote the earliest book which showcased what became the Western Arabic system, and developed a method by which teachers could obviate the need for a dust board, which precluded the wider adoption of the Western Arabic system.
In general, I'm fairly well-read in Islamic studies, and in general, Arabic numerals always refers to Western Arabic, as authors will directly refer to the term "Eastern Arabic numerals" if they are speaking of the separate system.

Arabs did lots of great stuff for society before that Islam thing took off. Coffee and algebra were two of the biggest.
Religious extremists are the ones to blame. Their societies were so advanced before all the bums started to push primitive laws

You're surprised to hear that Americans are generally idiots?

This is like the poll they take, trying to outlaw the chemical di-hydro-oxide.
It kills thousands of people every year. Chemical plants dump it into our rivers. Its eroding the coastlines.
It’s a stupid play on words to make people look dumb.

No, everyone else in the world would recognize the term arabic numerals.
It's only stupid Americans, specifically Trump voters from the south, that don't know.
There Bob, I went ahead and responded for you.

You're doing some serious spinning to defend some really dumb people.

Your example is. Calling then Arabic numerals is calling them exactly what they are. Dihydrogen monoxide is made up to be misleading.

I mean, they refer to the peak of their scientific, cultural, and economic achievements as the "Golden Age of Islam".

In other news people are racist and ignorant.

Roman numerals
All over America on watches, clocks, and learned in schools including numerals up into the thousands... my 7th header learned them last school year as a 1-week syllabus during math. I don’t know any other civilization who slaughtered and imprisoned more people than the Roman Empire.

Looks like 11 people learned they were using Arabic numbers

NOTHING Arabic should be taught in schools.

I get how it looks like that.
Except I called out those people in my first post.
I’m mostly railing at how the poll was at best lazily constructed, at worst deliberately made.
That’s a whole separate thing from the fact they used it on a fertile field of idiots. To be honest, I’m surprised the number is only just over 50%

I don't think it makes people look dumb, rather than show how uneducated so many are.
