Should an elderly person be charged for accidently running over their elderly spouse?

This happens somewhat frequently. I guess it is possible that it is intentional but in the vast cases it is accidental. What charges would apply and should they?

Only if they don't completely murder them to death, maybe?...

Not if it was an accident.
Same for those horrible cases where a parent backs over their child in the driveway. Horrible situation and I feel bad for all involved. No one has to be charged if it was just an accident.

What do you mean by “elderly”? I think after 80 you aren’t subject to laws anymore.

They definitely should be sent to Angola at hard labor.

Are we talking about your grandparents or elderly couples in general?
It's a clear sign that the keys need to be taken away.

Any person over 67 shouldn’t be allowed to operate a vehicle unless they pass a yearly driving test. They are just as bad as drunk drivers.

They should be charged to the extent that the very least their license is taken away. If they accidentally run over their spouse, they shouldn't be on the road.

More than you might think. Most of the time the spouse is walking in front of the car and a foot slips off onto the accelerator.

context is everything
if there has been a pattern of poor driving the elderly should get evaluated by a driver rehabilitation specialist

I think we should incourage elderly assault. Less old people the better off we all are.
I’ll allow it.

How about you assault a spelling book? Maybe encourage literacy?
