Obviously it is not legal to shoot people with the rifle, if one does not have a legal justification, but my question is, did the shooter have a perfect legal constitutional right to carry that rifle -- whatever type it is -- openly? If so, should he have that right? Or does the answer remain, "we live in a free country, we have the 2nd Amendment, living in a free country can be messy and violent at times, there's nothing we can do about it, sometimes people will just be shot, blah blah"?
