I wouldn't live in Hundred Oaks because it's sketchy as hell bordering Valley Park. Definitely not safe. How can people find this place desirable amazes me.
What? I lived on Hundred Oaks (on the other side of Acadian.. more Garden District side) and never had a single issue. I loved it. And I've always thought when you cross over Acadian, the houses are even more beautiful. It is quiet and nice back there.
Even the streets when you keep following through and end up outside of Westdale Elementary seem decent for smaller homes.

IIRC Valley Park was the site of a landfill back in the day. That's why the properties were so cheap initially.
Can any old time BR OTers confirm this?
There's a fault line that runs just north of Bawell and crosses College Drive. You'd be surprised of the amount of "landfills" in Baton Rouge. People would randomly find areas to dump their hazardous wastes.

I remember a garbage mountain there when I was a kid. My mom called it "The Dump".

How about a white guy with a Mexican girlfriend selling something? You do know where most drugs come from right? And remember that the shooter got in the car and then left with a backpack. Sounds a hell of a lot like old boy brought something to the meet and got ripped and shot. Now I don't know him and don't want to cast aspersions on his name but what the witnesses saw doesn't look kosher for him. Hope I am wrong.
Who cares? I want to live in a country where I can buy and sell illegal drugs like cocaine without the fear of being ripped off and shot by a black man. Whatever happened to being to men being men of their word?
ETA: And I am not trolling. Just because it was "drug related" it's no excuse for his murder.

BATON ROUGE, LA (WAFB) - Two suspects have been arrested in connection with a shooting that left a man dead Monday evening.
The Baton Rouge Police Department has arrested 25-year-old Gabrielle Rogers, of Port Allen, and 23-year-old D'mon Spears, of Baton Rouge, on charges of principal to first-degree murder in the shooting death of George Reusch Jr., 27, of Prairieville.
Authorities reported the shooting happened in the parking lot near Hooters off College Drive a little before 7:30 p.m. Police said Spears, Rogers and an unknown male suspect were meeting up with Reusch for a drug deal. During the exchange, Reusch was shot by the unknown suspect.

Rogers was also charged with contributing to the delinquency of a juvenile for having her 5-year-old son in the car while driving the suspects before and after the shooting.
Bye bye baby. Hello DCFS.

No surprise after Sampson admitted to be an acquaintance of his. Another self entitled white kid that thought he was a big dog selling dope.
Unfortunate for his son, couldnt do anything about the fact that his dad was a drug dealing loser.

A shame for the lil boy
But drug dealers I don't have much pity for. I'd like to know the full details though of the transaction

It's a shame for both kids involved.
Reusch's kid is too young to ever remember his dad.
The other is a 5 year old and its mother is in jail on a Murder 1 charge.
