frick this shite. I refuse to get in the mud with murdering rapists. He/she deserves a fair trial by a jury of his/her peers.

In certain cases absolutely. But if you know without a shadow of a doubt that the accused is who killed the victims, no trial needed.

Bring them out back on live national TV and make their dying extremely painful and slow.

Every single American citizen deserves a trial.

Can everyone take a step back for a moment and really read the way you all are talking to and about each other? Good lord. I'm sure most people on here are reasonable decent human beings. I know everyone is very passionate about their views. But I've seen the same people complaining about this being used as a political platform, doing exactly that. Can we just take a moment to agree that we all are against the senseless deaths of children and need to try and fix the issue instead of name calling and puffing out our chests? Pro or anti gun, children should not being gunned down at this rate. Honestly it shouldn't happen at all. To ignore that it happens at a rate unlike anywhere else in this world is just appalling. So before you hit reply to a guy you are in a keyboard fight with, take a moment and think about the 17 kids that lost their lives today. Think about their families and how their lives have changed forever. We all want our kids to be safe. Please stop fighting with each other.

That’s a big number.

Poor kids. 17 families won’t ever be the same.

And the kids who witnessed their friends and teachers murdered will never be the same as well.

Absolutely awful.

That same somebody will probably scream about constitutional rights when the gun debate ramps up too.

Every time these things happen, people go back and see the signs. It’s bullying, bad parenting, mental illness, etc.

Unfortunately, I think some people are born with illnesses that make these crimes more likely to be committed by that individual.

What can we do?

Our world today caters to people regardless of what goes on in his or her mind. Rather than treat transgenders and people who don’t know what their sex is as mentally ill, we make sure everyone bends over backward to accommodate them.

When a kid fails all of his classes, we try some state run program to get him caught up.

When a teen decides they are binary and gender less, we choose coddle them.

When Timmy fricks up at home, somehow it becomes the fault of anybody but Timmy.

Parents and relatives who constantly look past a child’s issues and insist that the cause is because of external factors do no favors in these situations. I’d think that the majority of school shootings are caused by this.

Someone downvoted me saying we are all probably against the senseless killing of children. We wonder why our government can't figure things out. This thread is very depressing.
