HIGHLANDS RANCH, Colo. — Authorities believe at least two people were injured in a shooting at STEM School Highlands Ranch on Tuesday afternoon, according to the Douglas County Sheriff's Office. A ranking law enforcement source told Denver7 that at least one victim was shot and that one suspect was down. Authorities were looking for two other suspects, the source said. The sheriff's office tweeted about 2:40 p.m. that the incident was an "active and unstable scene" at the STEM school, which is located off South Ridgeline Road and Plaza Drive. Authorities responded to the school about 1:50 p.m. on a report of shots fired, and deputies were still in the process of identifying and locating any shooters, the sheriff's office tweeted.

We as a society are going to end up having to create maximum security zones at each school in the country.

It seems like we hear more and more crazy incidents happening at these schools every year. Not just shootings but other stuff that endangers students and teachers as well.

People are just crazy.

I wish there was a way to eliminate these people from our society.

The problem is the mental states, not the physical state of the schools.

I'll bet the cops don't back down and run for cover like in Cowardsville, FL.

Prayers sent.

I actually used to live and work right by this school, moved further south about a year ago. It's a pretty small K-12 school located in a business park, kind of a strange place for a shooting.

Par for the course for school shootings like this

They don't take place in the hood, they happen when shitball spoiled kid didn't get enough love from Daddy despite living in a 400K house with all the comforts that one needs.

We could start by eliminating these signs:

Hearing stories like this makes me sick to my stomach. Praying everyone makes it out alright. I feel for those poor families.

Highlands Ranch is upper middle class to upper class, about 5-10 miles outside of Denver.
