You're not coming off as a "gun hater," you're coming off as someone who values government overreach in the name of security and tolerance of Islam more than individual liberty.

Did this guy legally acquire his gun?
i'm going to assume yes
he allegedly had explosives, which i doubt he acquired legally
the talking point is going to be the "watchlist" argument

Less gun violence does not mean less violence.

This is where so many of you that are anti-gun start to demonstrate your ignorance, and why people laugh at you.
Can you explain what makes an AR15 so different than any other semi-auto rifle?
What is the going price for an AR15? Is it cheaper than other rifles?
What are the different uses for the AR15 platform?
You know he can't/won't answer any of those questions. He just knows that once something is illegal people will stop using/committing said act.

radical Islam is fricked. But so is allowing people on a terrorist watch list to buy assault rifles. A handgun wouldn't have got these casualty numbers.
It is too damn easy to get a Ar15, they are cheap as hell and they serve no real purpose except to kill a lot of people efficiently.
If someone wants a gun they can easily get get on the black market. There is a couple good documentaries about this, they may pay 2 to 3 times more but they will get it.

The motivation for the attack is the issue. We need to ferret out these radicals from our society.
we need to do both.

if we banned guns today and removed them, we would still have a major violent crime population with the same groups

But guns aren't allowed in night clubs or schools, there are signs and everything!! Oh wait, people willing to murder will ignore our laws!? Who knew??
Idiots

Even if illegal there are just too many on the black market.
Which is the cause of 95% of the violence in this country, but instead of going after that issue - liberals are OBSESSED with taking away guns from the innocent people who haven't been convicted of any crimes. Notice how Chicago stays like the wild west even though guns are ban and purchasing one in that state is a bureaucratic nightmare involving permits, fees, etc - cash grab from people who are innocent and turning the blind eye from the people committing the crimes.

And people that live in the jungle don't suffer from lion attacks.
Check out the knife violence there though.

Well just got back. Blood donation line is around the block. The area where the nightclub is is completely blocked off. Just news crews and cops.

I don't like nor trust Muslims at all. I was all for deportations after 9/11. I think some of what Trump plans to do is on point.
I do think guns are a problem in this nation. In my unpopular opinion, the right to bear arms has been over used. I think had the forefathers made a mistake by making deadly weaponry a national right.

I'm all for gun rights and whatever but if a guy on a terror watch list starts loading up on weapons, maybe keep a fricking eye on him

You can get an AK for cheaper than an AR. An AR just "Looks scary".

I can only imagine what the scene is like around there. God bless.
Posted on 6/12/16 at 10:36 am to hendersonshands
i think the fact that this individual was on the watch list, as well as the boston guys, and they still commit attacks, the watch list itself should be questioned. it's a SUPER powerful tool that may not be worth the output in reality

Thankfully we have a constitution to protect our rights.
Don't like it, move to another country.
