This is where so many of you that are anti-gun start to demonstrate your ignorance, and why people laugh at you.

Can you explain what makes an AR15 so different than any other semi-auto rifle?
What is the going price for an AR15? Is it cheaper than other rifles?
What are the different uses for the AR15 platform?

It was in a club. Lots of people in close quarters.

At some point, someone has to be in a position to blind side this idiot and take him down. He had to have some kind of explosive device or something. That's a lot of gunshots

-----------------------------------------------------------

I don't know how he entered the club, but the dance floor was likely packed with several hundred people. It would be like shooting fish in a barrel. No bomb necessary. You can easily fire 30 rounds from a semi-automatic rifle, aimed in a general area, in under ten seconds. A few more seconds to dump your empty magazine and insert a fresh one. Without being Rambo, you could empty at least three, probably four and maybe five in 60 seconds. It would not take long to shoot 100 people...

To be honest, I usually wonder how these assholes don't kill more people than they do. James Holmes had most of the people (400?) in a sold out theatre auditorium running toward two exits. He killed about a dozen and wounded ~70. It was a miracle/shitty marksmanship that he didn't kill more. Adam Lanza was shooting 6 year olds with a .223 that has a muzzle velocity of ~3,100fps, you don't think those rounds weren't passing through one child and hitting another? Or a third?

Our "gun culture" is directly responsible for the high amount of gun violence in this country. Other nations that long ago realized that the average Joe doesn't need an arsenal seem to have a lot less gun violence than us. But it's way too late now to even think about removing guns. Hell I am coming off as a gun hater and I own nine.
Even if illegal there are just too many on the black market.
We should have made the push to do away with them 100 years ago and things would be better now. Oh well.

Add in alcohol, loud music and dim lighting.

oh yeah for sure

it's very hard to accept the fact that you're already dead. it's hard-wired into us via evolution

that's why the ending of United 93 is so fricking emotional. you see those people accept their fate, after spending the past 2 hours watching them think that they can figure out a way after it. it's the worst type of situation imaginable

Violent crime rate is better now, and with many, many more guns in the US.

Try again.

if we're talking about general gun violence, there are lots of factors way ahead of "gun culture"

our insanely large underclass is the biggest and the war on drugs is a strong #2

neither has anything to do with this attack

what other rights do you want to eliminate? speech? religion? the press? search and seizure?

The NRA needs to back the frick down and allow the government to ban people on the watch list from buying guns. Though that won't go over well.

You do realize that there is no judicial process to be placed on that watch list and, as seems to be the recurring element involving the federal government, they screw up pretty frequently and place the wrong person on that list. Good times.

radical Islam is fricked. But so is allowing people on a terrorist watch list to buy assault rifles. A handgun wouldn't have got these casualty numbers.

Napoleon stick to appliances. You are woefully ignorant when it comes to weapons and their capabilities.

The style and type of weapon is not the issue here (that will be the left wing taking point though). The motivation for the attack is the issue. We need to ferret out these radicals from our society.

while other rifles are designed for hunting the AR-15 and it's 223 round is designed for maximum tissue damage against soft targets. In other wors it was designed for the battlefield. Most hunting rifles have small capacity magazines and some are even bolt load. Yet the Ar-15 uses quick load magazines designed for rapid reloading in battle situations.

Can be made for less than $500, other rifles are cheaper, other rifles are more.

Killing things. not much else, I guess you could use for hunting, but a bit of an overkill.

I get my opinion is not liked in this Red board, but remember there are more of us now than you.
