Take this to the PT. This thread is to discuss an event that just happened today and new info that’s coming out about the event.

Yeah of course they happen
Okay...so think logically here: if they happen in states with lax laws AND states with strict laws...
...what use are they?

ncrease in taxes on corporations or the 1% is somehow bad.
It is. Government has been shown to be wasteful

.....and the effective rate was basically 40%. Take a hike bozo.

Seriously, I'm trying to find new information in this thread about the actual event, but I have to wade through 7 pages worth of side discussions.

No one paid 90%. There were a myriad of tax shelters and other ways not to pay. That’s why when Reagan lowered the marginal rates the government actually took in more money than when the top rate was 90%.

We need to color code useless and irrelevant responses in threads like this.
That way readers can pass over them quickly

BINGO. He's proven this time and time again.

Feel free to look into the sickening ways we foot the bill in our taxes and health insurance to give the world better healthcare while we fall into financial ruin when we break a leg.
Our version of government healthcare is a joke compared to other nations that being said I certainly know a number of people who rely heavily on Medicaid.
We could've used some of the 300 billion we sent to Ukraine to help out Americans with healthcare, but that's (D)ifferent, isn't it comrade?

Any clarification as to if there were actually two shooters or not?
Posted on 4/17/25 at 2:56 pm to dawgfan24348
Someone sticky a reply when they identify the shooter
Posted on 4/17/25 at 2:57 pm to LSUGrrrl
Any updates on the evil garbage that did the shooting?

I still don't get how all the pro-gun people (which is likely 90% of the OT) see the data, how the US is per capita gun shooting and mass shooting is easily 3,000%+ higher relative to global average, and still don't see it as a problem. That's like chain smoking a cigarette every minute, getting lung cancer, and then saying smoking had nothing to do with getting lung cancer.
It's extremely difficult to outlaw guns now as there are already 300 million of them in the US amongst citizens. The cat is already out of the bag now, but one can't see the data and deny it.
