Didn't seem bad when I was down there 10 years ago but didn't explore the whole city.
Austin East has been this way for awhile, well before I moved to the area in the 90s. Most of Knoxville is super safe.

2017 Las Vegas, 2018 Parkland, and 2019 El Paso. Perhaps Trump got a bit lucky with 2020 in that with few people allowed outdoors, there were few soft targets for the crazies to exploit. But the last 4 years saw some mass shootings.
This doesn't even include Chicago every weekend.
Mass shootings happen a lot.
We still have more gun suicide deaths per 100,000 people than gun homicides. Venezuela still leads the world in gun homicides per 100,000 people.

I simply don't even believe these stories anymore. I mean, it's definitely a shooting but I think it may be some planned government shite just as they push a gun control agenda. Seems to me like the only way to stop mass shootings is to keep a Democrat out of the White House.

You must have been living under a rock. There were dozens of school shootings over the last 4 years. Including Mary Stoneman and Santa Fe HS which were the 1st and 3rd worst in history, Columbine was #2.

Would have to be, they confronted him in a restroom and only 2 shots were fired 1 killed the perp and we can assume one missed and ricochet and hit the police officer in the leg. Who knows keep the powder dry

The Austin-East community has had to deal with a tremendous amount of loss in recent months. This is the fifth current or former Austin-East student involved in a shooting just this year.
Police believe A-E student Justin Taylor, 15, was accidentally shot in January by an older teen friend, who was later charged.
Stanley Freeman Jr. was 16 when he was shot to death as he was leaving school in February. Two other teens are charged with lying in wait for Freeman and shooting him.
15-year-old Janaria Muhammad, known as NaNa, was found shot to death just four days later. Her killing remains unsolved.
Jamarion "Lil Dada" Gillette, 15, a former student, was found shot and injured on Cherokee Trail on March 10. He later died at the hospital. No arrests have been made.
Now a fifth student has died inside the halls of Austin-East Magnet High School.
