He should be charged with and convicted of some sort of murder/manslaughter. If you think there's nothing wrong with what he did, you are neither as thoughtful or good a person as you think you are.
That said, when a thief/assaulter gets hurt in the act of committing their crime, I have no sympathy for them.

You are arguing that it is the same situation, when stealing of items and rape are NOT the same situation. Someone who is being raped is fearing for their life.

Do you realize that you are making our case for us? This old man is not the person to dish out justice because his thinking is affected by emotion at the time.

If you are 70 and have to go down 5 flights of stairs you fear for your life

Wow.
Just wow.
I'm done with this thread on that note. It's a good thing all felonies are treated the same and apparently interchangeable.

I've never had that happen to me so I can't say I would have handled it better. His actions didn't lead to somebody being killed. Her actions led to somebody being killed.

I don't know exactly what you're referring to, but stopping forcible rape while inside the home is very different from shooting a fleeing, unarmed person outside of the home.

What you have failed to realize this whole time is I understand your argument. I know what is "right". I simply have no problem with what the man did.

Both are felonies so it's the same in the eyes of the law is it not?

Okay say the guy jumps out the window and runs off? Would you not pursue him and try to kill?

Really my only point and the bottom line. I feel like the hippy fricks lose sight of this very simple concept

I think you need to study up on when deadly force is justified.

He didn't wake up and decide to shoot a girl. She woke up and decided to rob him. She got killed for it
He was put in a position he should never have been in. No ones fault but hers

So what you are saying is that our moral codes are different? You believe that it's OK to shoot unarmed people if they have committed property damage to you and you are mad?...because I don't think it's right. I see how you would WANT to kill someone that robbed you, but I still don't think actually killing them is right.

I don't usually see too many "hippy fricks" on the bench.

Pretty sure him shooting her twice in the back led to her death. I'm pretty sure at least.
Her actions led to him being robbed and having a broken bone.
