Been using the Gillette adjustable razor for many years, the fat boy.

I can't either. Safety razors are..safe
I switched to straight razor a couple years ago, and I had a few mishaps early on. Once I got the hang of it, it's been unbeatable. More precise and much less skin irritation than multi-blade or safety razor.

Feather is a brand of blade, not razor, but it's enough information to tell me that we are in fact talking about DE safety razors.
And while Feather is, literally, the sharpest and most aggressive blades you can buy, that generally results in people complaining about razor burn if they press too hard. I've used Feathers and have never cut myself with one. Did you watch any video tutorials on shaving technique before diving in?

I’m with you on the safety razors sucking. I’ve tried old, new, expensive, cheap and everything in between. I’ll take a disposable cartridge or razor any day. Just can’t beat the clean shave they give versus safety.

Bingo. I've sold every Fatboy I've ever been able to find/buy. I've refurbed the best of them, gotten them shave ready, and sold for big money.
Any vintage adjustable Gillette is desirable, really.

Nonsense, they make some nice razors although a bit pricey, the AS-D2S is probably the best safety razor on the market.

This is the thickest razor I've seen.
However, this
screams "you're going to cut yourself more often." The model I use isn't adjustable like the one I linked, but it works fine with Dorco ST301 blades.
Just remember you probably will want a handle with knurling on it, because your hand or the razor will be wet much of the time.

They list five handles on their site under the double edge category (they also make straight edge and several medical products). Their DE razors range from cheap ($10-20) plastic handles to $200ish all-stainless models. Their blades are far more popular than their handles, though.

I will also sing the praises of the Stirling Soap company in Booneville, Arkansas and their great products. Love their bath and shave soaps, etc.
For razors, tho, I use Blackland. Their Blackbird is fantastic. I know they offer different lengths, but not sure about girths.
They have fantastic customer service and it never hurts to email them with a suggestion. Everything is made in the USA and perhaps others are others requesting something similar.

Any idea for how long? I haven’t been in the market for a razor in well over a decade, so I’m curious if it’s new or if I just managed to previously miss it

Yeah I think he’s thinking of a straight razor. I cut myself way less with a safety razor than I did with disposables.

There’s a fairly big “perfectly fricking fine” zone when it comes to angle. You just won’t get as close of a shave. If you cut yourself, you did one of two things. Either, you pressed down like a jackass, or slid the razor sideways like a jackass
