I don't see it as a trust issue. Could be a safety thing.

In all the ways a married couple are intimate, the knowledge of the other’s location is a bit too intimate?

At ALL times? Yes.

This. It's not like everyone is tracking the entire time. Just nice to have it in case something isn't right.

We're old, so it's a safety thing. It's handy too, if I see my wife in at Woman's Fitness then I know she's in pilates or some class and she won't answer. I don't care if she knows where I am, so what? I hate it when I'm driving and she calls to see where I am. Just check the app.

“I just want to know what she does all day.” Everyone in the shop thought that was a strange request, but now it’s the norm.

That is still weird, its still not the norm to actively track your spouse all day. Most replies have been its nice to know when someone is coming home or still at work and save a phone call. Most people are not doing it to track their spouse all day.

Bit say something happened to your significant other. I'm not sure I'd want them be reliant in having to manually enable tracking.

I have my husband’s Apple PW. If I really needed to, I could log in and find location of his phone.

What is the logical upside from constantly tracking your spouse?

It obvious just a failsafe so they dont cheat, or if they do you have warning signs. Same reason you track your kids or employees.

What logic is used that this is somehow beneficial otherwise?

My wife has mentioned it but I don't really see what the benefit is so we haven't done it.

We're not apple users. But why go to all that trouble when we can just go to an app to quickly see the same thing?

But everyone in our house knows everyone else's passwords.

Yes, at all times.
Married with children, it’s about safety.
Also do it with my mom, she’s old.

My wife used to bug me for updates on road trips until I shared my location. Now she leaves me alone. It makes her feel better and saves me the trouble.

That's odd, but not as odd as allowing you people to call your civil union marriage now. Marriage already had a definition.

I share with my family, gf, and like 2 friends.

One of those friends is a cop and I'll fly by him every so often if I'm bored and see him sitting in some spot close by

We share our location. It makes it easy to tell if someone has left a meeting and is on the way home to have dinner ready, without disturbing the meeting the call or text. That probably happens for each of us once every two weeks, and that’s as often as I check it.

I was responding directly to someone saying they needed it for a potential emergency. My point is that I could still locate his phone during an emergency.

Safety

Comes in very handy

My husband and I don’t share our iPhone locations unless there is a specific need, but I’ve been surprised to find out how many couples constantly share location with their spouses. We share bank accounts and know the PW to each other’s phones. There are no trust issues. I just find the constant tracking inherently creepy. He does, too, so I guess that means I married the right man. How many of y’all are like me and just find some inherent weirdness to always sharing location?

100%.

My spouse started a travel job doing house calls all over Atlanta (pet euthanasia) so she'll send me pins to show where she's at for safety concerns I guess, makes her feel better for me to know where she's at, but not because I ask her to. It's ok for married people to still have boundaries and privacy. It think it's healthy. We never merged accounts because we had so many already (didn't get married until our 30's) but we have each others passwords in case of emergency and have each other set up as authorized users where applicable. But there's no reason to merge all that shite.

Now, when my kid gets to the age where he's out and about without us, and has a phone, you better believe that shite will be turned on. I'm gonna have an apple air tag stapled to his forehead.

Would you be constantly checking in on each other?

It’s only creepy if you make it creepy
