Odds on flights coming into MSY tomorrow?

So the consensus for the Spring Breakers in PCB FL traveling back to Oxford is for them to leave today or Sunday?
That would be my play, anything is better than being stuck in a car on back roads driving through hundreds of miles of pine forests through a front that stretches from the coast to Oxford.
But you’ve kind of done what you can, you can’t force him to pick up the phone or leave early especially if he didn’t drive.

Thanks for the warning but since I am his mom and I am straight at least that is something I don't need to worry about.

If thye have the option to stay until Sunday, then that would be the easy sell.

I bet almost all of those places are turning and burning a new spring break crew on Sundays

Be careful, that is how it started with Mary Kate and how she ended up being a 50+ page long thread on tOT.

don't see the problem with going today
Only thing is the wind is ripping which makes boating more dangerous if you’re on a large lake

Welp looks like I’m under the gun this evening based on that

Sticky this thread? Seems to be pretty widespread threats for a large portion of posters. Maybe not so much BR, but Mississippi and Alabama are going to have a bad time.
I just talked to my students about it and most of them had no idea it's supposed to even rain tomorrow. Makes me wonder how many people just never see an alert or understand what's coming.

Crazy archdiocese just sent out a recommendation for extra curricular activities to be cancelled for tomorrow . Guess that now means I’m not sitting watching a cheer competition the kids all day at the alario center

They could probably find a hotel off the beach, a lot of those places cater to the house renters who drive down the night before so they can stock up and be ready for check in the next day.
I’d check places like defuniak springs, Marianna or even some of the new hotels over in Miramar Beach off 98.

Got a hold of my son. He says that they are leaving before noon today.

Hard to believe, since a significant portion of Facebook feeds and definitely all local news around here are more or less predicting mass extinction tomorrow.

Kids that age think they are bullet proof, but I would ask him to make sure he has a weather app on his phone. Also if he has an iPhone he can go to settings, notifications, scroll down to the very bottom (past apps) and make sure emergency alerts and public safety alerts are turned on.
Many kids hate those alerts but you should ask him to at least turn them on while driving home. He can disable when storms are past.
Nobody listens to the radio anymore and he would not get the alert in the car...

I’m going to go ahead and say this:
This is the most concerning severe weather threat/setup for Mississippi and Alabama that I can remember since 4/27/2011. I’m not saying that tomorrow will be at that level, but it’s very concerning.
