He understands that he and his team are the front line of preventing loss of life. To be able to balance that desire to help against the morons that rant when his forecast exceeds the severity of reality, is a truly special skill. James Spann has the patience of Job. He also understands that he is servicing an undereducated state, and does a great job of both "tech talk" and layman's terminology. He's the best in the business
Couldn’t sum it up better.
He genuinely cares about keeping people safe and after some of the outbreaks I think it’s almost a battlefield type bond that people in AL have with him due to what they’ve been through together.

It helps that he is so good at being on screen to. He is engaging and knowledgeable. Has a great screen presence. I tune out as soon as I have to watch another weather personality.

So a front is coming thru. Big whoopty shite. Get over yourself. This generation is a bunch of pussies.

That’s the significant tornado parameter off of the 3km NAM computer model. It’s basically a composite index that takes several different factors and generates a solution on where the model thinks the greatest risk of significant tornadoes is and how high it thinks that risk. A 15 on the significant tornado parameter is basically the model maxing out. In short, it indicates that the model thinks there is a high likelihood of significant tornadoes in the pink shaded area.

Is Miss State on spring break?
I know Ole Miss and Bama are on break at the moment which might be a good thing.
Hopefully Miss State isn’t full with what they’re showing for that area.

mother fricker - Saturday is gonna be bad.
i know we all get at odds with others on here about cancelations, closures and nothing burgers and the like - but Saturday is gonna be a day where we all need to curb that and just be there for those that are affected.

I don’t think Spann likes to have to say that about 4/27/11,
In just guessing but my guess would be James would prefer not to have to mention it at all
