There was a little shortwave low that came through and it was April, so it had better thermodynamics to work with. So it just exploded upward.

Watch the 4/2015 storm turn day into night in about 90 seconds in Baton Rouge. Nuts.
LINK
The above link is from a very cool video in that storm from a boat in Baton Rouge harbor. You can see the lights on the I-10 bridge flicker on and off...and everything goes black. Thought they were going to capsize for a minute.

I'd say the weather folks did well with this one. It's not going to be severe everywhere with this set up, and it wasn't.

Peej should not be allowed to predict anything ever on here. Dude is a complete jinx, he's bad luck. Just look at today. What a dumb frick.

Call them and bitch that they didn't come in the time span that they gave you. They freakin' deserve it.

Now I remember that storm. I was heading East out of BR right as that thing came in. I just remember everything behind me looking greenish, then just black.

What did he miss on? Had a tornado down inside of WAFB viewing area, with potentially a second.
All the predictions I saw had Baton Rouge in the TORCON 5-6 range, meaning a 50-60% chance there would be a tornado within a 50 mile radius of your area. Well, White Castle, Prairieville, Livingston, etc. are all within 50 miles of EBR.
So where were these guys wrong? Because a tornado didn't touch down where you live?

Damn....that is incredible how the new bridge just disappears from view. Can't believe I've never seen that. The guys on that tug boat are convinced it's a tornado.
Edit: The guy says "Tornado...get your life vests on now!". Looks pretty ominous at that point.
