Multiple restaurants are set to open at the site of a former CVS Pharmacy on the corner of Government Street and Acadian Thruway, according to a report by The Advocate. Wingstop, Marco's Pizza, PJ's Coffee and Donuts and Burgers have all reportedly signed leases for suites at the former pharmacy, with three more leases still available.

So an empty CVS is turned into 6 different suites?

Just what BR needs. More shite chain restaurants.

How do multiple business open at the site of one CVS? It’s not a massive building or anything.

The newspaper reported that the 11,224-square-foot building will be divided into smaller units, ranging from 2,300 to 1,260 square feet.

Sounds like somewhat of a food court setup. Interesting

I owned a house a block north of that corner. Green duplex. Was decent enough but the neighborhood had a lot of transiet foot traffic that was sketchy af.
House was built in 1922 and was solid tongue and groove old growth wood. With knob and bob electrical.
Back then we had a CVS a Walgreens and a Rite Aid on that corner.

The idea that Baton Rouge has nothing but chain restaurants is one of the silliest I see on here

Marcos has good pizza.

It has a lot of chains for a city the size of BR that also has a lot (for a city the size of BR) of non chains.

Well you realized wrong. The CVS building was never a DH Holmes. DH Holmes was part of the Westmoreland shopping center on that site. CVS was an out parcel developed decades later.

Milatello shoe repair was right there

Marcos and Wingstop are lower tier

Really?
I thought Andrew’s Rexall Drugs was on the east end, then Morgan&Lindsey, then Tik Tom, the Cohn-Turner and Rosenfields on the West end.
Am I off?

Baton Rouge just has a lot of restaurants, chain and non-chain. Which is why I don’t understand why people emphasize the chains.

I read this as "with three month leases still available.", and thought, that's probably a good idea in that area. See how it goes. Don't overcommit.
