My main arguing point is that there is a weight/mass/strength threshold that is crossed in which superior skills can't cover the disparity. I get the feeling that some of the Lee people believe there is no size discrepancy that he couldn't overcome. I disagree with that premise.
Scruffy agrees that there is a weight/size issue, but he thinks Tyson has a weakness that any multifaceted fighter does not.

His lower body. That isn't to say that Tyson couldn't drop Lee in one punch.

This fight would basically be a toss up, ISO.

If we are talking putting them in a boxing ring and making them fight, more of a debate.

I'm 16 pages in and this is the stupidest thing said so far. You think there is "debate" over Tyson Vs. Lee in a straight up boxing match? Get the frick out of here. Lee would be lucky to come out of it without a life changing injury.

Winner. Whoever gets the most vicious attack in first wins.

Of course size doesn't matter if your opponent can't fight it but it absolutely does matter if your opponent can fight.

JKD guys stress not fighting your opponents game. Like not boxing a boxer, not grappling with a grappler, and not kicking with a MT guy. Lots of times you are not going to know this in a straight out street fight but JKD has 3 ranges of fighting. High, middle, and low. You attack the range that the fighter is not in. You let your offense be defense until your opponent shows you his hand so to speak. So, in a Bruce Lee vs Tyson fight, Bruce would probably focus highly on taking out Tyson's nuts, knees, or feet.

This is what my instructor drills into us.

Is there any video of Lee in a real, non-scripted, fight?

He was too fast for cameras back then. Not his fault.

No dumbass, I said boxing ring. Are you illiterate?

I was responding to a question of where the fight would take place. Putting them in an enclosed ring where Lee could get pinned much easier takes away much of his mobility advantage.

About as likely as finding video of Chuck Norris in a fight that wasn't gimped with competition rules.

I saw drunken and Tyson and opened the thread assuming this was a debate about late-night drunk chicken eating preferences

Who has a more artificially inflated fighting resume: Bruce Lee or Frank Dux?

I think it would last less than seconds and I think Bruce Lee might never eat solid food again.

Tyson would bob and weave, Lee would throw a punch or kick. Tyson would walk right through it and rip Lee's head completely off. Maybe the dumbest question I have seen on this board and that's saying a lot.

"Putting them in a boxing ring" can easily be interpreted as a boxing match, shite-for-brains. Articulate much?

Ohh, shots fired. Though other than his youth in China, and besides the few times he had to take care of some on-set hecklers, the only fight we know of is the one where people in China sent someone over to tell him he couldn't teach to white people, where they fought and he won, but then changed up philosophy to JKD due to the limits of wing chun.

All I hear is legend about who he allegedly beat up, some bums that don't have any legit skill.

I don't doubt he could hold his own in a fight vs another skilled, much larger fighter but a ton of his fans take it way too far. I think this fight ends whenever Tyson gets a solid shot in. I don't care how much you train a 135 pound body it's still going to get destroyed by a flush hit from prime Tyson.

I hate when people assume Bruce was invincible in a fight. That part of his legend is definitely ridiculous.

But I'll admit up front that I do believe he was capable of exceptional physical feats(speed, strength) compared to his size. And I would argue based on his writings and how he perfected what he did that he was mentally one exceptional individual in terms of drive, focus, logic, etc.

He was an outstanding and exceptional human being. He did for his martial arts and acting goals what other great individuals did in their fields of expertise.
