You seem so engrossed in his feelings. Let's accept that his feelings really were hurt and that he's not energized by this.
It still doesn't justify his completely illogical position he took on Drew Brees in the first place or worse, his unwillingness to accept Drew Brees' clarification that in no way was this an anti-LGBTQ stance.
It's as if you think him having hurt feelings justifies his opinion on his own. It doesn't. He deserves criticism for it. And, while the tweet was a slur, nobody honestly thinks he was largely effected by it.

When WWL should be the prime target at this moment.
Because they took 2 days to respond?
Because they got hacked/didn't follow security protocol on their account?

ok then bunchie. You are walking in public with one of your gay friends, and someone calls them a frickin f@g. They are visibly upset. What follows?
If it is the ones I know there is about to be a beat down. And for fun they would then tell them to go home and tell their momma they got their arse kicked by a fig.

I think it was a pretty halfhearted apology considering they are the leader in radio/tv in the city of New Orleans.

I didnt see it, but I'll assume you're right.
It very well could've been crafted by their legal time, possibly designed to let the issue pass, IDK.

Never said I believe WWL is anti-gay. I said it was a halfhearted apology. I can share both opinions on the matter.

He wrote a collum saying he liked Drew and knew he didn't have ill will towards gay community but said he should have done better than partnering with focus on the family. It wasn't anything off the wall or over the top SJW.
Yes but he went on and on about it, and spoke about all the hardships that befell him as a result of being gay (lost jobs, lack of acceptance, hidden shame, etc). Then he quits a job because someone called him a fig. I liked his show, but he looks like a typical progressive pussy after this.

Shoot they had David Tyree working for them for years-that guy was awesome.
I don't think their anti-gay.

I wouldn't be thrilled, but that damn sure wouldn't make me quit.
I stick around just to annoy the cowardly tucker that did it.

Several hours after the tweet disappeared, WWL issued this statement on Twitter:

@WWLAMFM
We are aware of a tweet that went out today from the WWL account. The content of the tweet is categorically offensive and abhorrent to the station. We are actively investigating this incident and will take swift and appropriate action once we determine how this occurred.

quote:It means the tweet was inappropriate and should not have been made. It is not a knock on him. His value as a sportscaster and person does not diminish in my eyes as a result of the tweet. He has nothing to be ashamed of as a result of the tweet. It will be a humiliating event for the person who posted it.
When you say you are on his side, what does that mean to you?

No, and I didnt even imply that. But all that hardship should have made him stronger so that one word by an anonymous coworker doesn't topple his life.
I'm not condoning the "fig" comment; it was wrong in so many ways. But sticks and stones, man.
