Service vs Production jobs

I realized early in life that I wanted to be a producer. I wanted a job where I could help design, build, or manufacture something. I wanted to work with computers or machinery.
That being said, I have read many articles on job sites saying that service jobs are the way of the future.
Some of you are business owners or upper management, so I ask this : are manufacturing, design, and the general building of new products the future of the US or is legal, medical, and IT support sector.
All of these are important, but I'm asking which one has the most growth potential.

You need to relax and not think about work all the time. I've been in the office all morning and havn't thought about work once.
