I read Reuters.

That's where those news outlets you mention buy their stories from.

They have opinion pieces, but most of what they report is "This happened here. This is happening now."

It allows me to think about how I feel about the situation without CNN or FOX feeding me adjectives.

I don't really know anybody younger that watches the news. The only 2 people that watch the news at the office are 2 older guys who are 55+.

One is a "libertarian" who's smarter than everyone in the room and the oldest one is a "real republican"... whatever the hell that means

Negative.

Every single one of the news outlets are so bad anymore that it’s not even legit news anymore.

Watch? No. Not for years and years

Read articles? Sometimes. Nothing has come close to replacing print news media. Twitter/X is a joke in this regard.

I quit watching the news during Covid. Haven’t watched it since and much better off for it.

I’ll occasionally turn in to the local news in the mornings as the wife will have it on, but I’m more of a get up and go type guy so even with that, it’s maybe 5 minute doses just to check out what Rita or Jay-Rey is wearing that day.

Killed cable about a year ago. Never looked back. The fear mongering is terrible with the lying media

Their all garbage IMHO, when there's an agenda the news is compromised and I don't know of any of the traditional media outlets without one.

The rub is now social media is where most go for their news content these days and that's even worse.

I read WSJ and get news from websites. I also read RealClear Politics as it provides a nice cross section across the spectrum.

Probably half my patients have it on anytime I go. Doesn’t matter what channel it all seems to be sensationalized bullshite.

I quit watching TV/Cable about 15 years ago. One of the best decisions I’ve ever made. So much wasted time and brain rot. I accomplish much much more than I used to. Learning new things. Experiencing life. It’s like being Neo and waking up to the lies and manipulation.

Now I do have Amazon Prime and Netflix for movies and documentaries.

I wish I could go back and never have watched TV.

Cut the cable. Just try it. You can always resub if you’re too addicted to it and want to re-enter the matrix.

how are we defining "mainstream" media?

for example, Joe Rogan gets more views than probably all of those channels combined, is JRE not mainstream media? because I would think it is

It’s more than just MSM.

I’ve gone down a rabbit hole of streams during the election as results came out and all the democratic ones had the EXACT same talking points: strong ground game, repubs last 10 days were horrid, Madison square garden event, etc.

It’s pretty hilarious how they were all locked in step across the board

i think “legacy media” is a more appropriate term for what he is describing.

About the only time I watch any of the stations you posted is if there's a game on that I want to see. I haven't watched a weekly sitcom, drama show, cop show and definitely no so-called reality show on those stations in years.

"legacy" or "traditional"

the fact is that most people under the age of 65 consume media differently these days, so this weird talking point of "I don't consume mainstream media" isn't any brag or virtue because everyone obsessed with saying almost assuredly consumes mainstream media

JRE, Shawn Ryan, Dan Bongino, etc are mainstream media today

I’ve been watching NewsNation lately. It seems to be the closest to opinion-less news I’ve seen in years.
Fox, CNN, MSNBC are 90% opinion these days.

Isn't this all "Libertarians?"

I'll watch the local Houston news stations for the weather and traffic report before it devolves into TDS.
