I've heard it all 1000s of times and it still makes me laugh.
In his last few albums he has been more about the lyrics than creating songs with catchy beats, which really shows how good he is. But I will listen to his old stuff sometimes and it is funny.
His song Guilty Conscience makes me laugh every time for some reason.

There are a few rappers who are really good. Logic is one of them.
This is a song by Logic featuring Eminem called Homicide.

It's pretty much talking about all the bad rappers.

I'm 60, and I listen to a lot 0f hip hop from the 70's, 80's, and 90's. Can't stand a lot of the crap from the last two decades, but feel the same way about most music from all genres.

Rap and country are very similar imo. Both genre’s songs are overwhelmingly geared towards women and getting fricked up.
Rap and country are like the blues. Mostly told from a man's point of view.
Country and the blues are mostly sad stories about men losing women.
Country music goes even further, by making excuses for being lazy and inconsiderate. We're all dumb, pick up driving boys that love our mommas, and like to drink.
A lot of rap is guy's bragging about getting over on women. It's message is guys are going to be guys. We don't care about anything but getting high and getting it wet.
Lot's of younger guys that are the types that will let a woman support them, listen to rap, country, or both.

Just bumping this to say, if your idea of rap is lil Wayne, Cardi B and Nicki Minaj, you're looking in the wrong places. That's like saying "wow George Strait sucks because Florida Georgia Line is country!" Immortal Technique, Eminem, Logic, Lupe Fiasco, Joyner Lucas, J. Cole, Kendrick, etc. are a starting point, not to mention all the "old" stuff. And it 100% takes talent to make a beat/melody. Not every single one of them, no. But it doesn't take talent to play a I–V–vi–IV chord progression either. But the good ones take talent and nuance, as well as at least a general knowledge of music theory. It's not just hitting a button

because older people appreciate singers. rap is not singing therefore, it shouldn't be considered a "song" if you will.....

serious question: how does ANYONE like rap?
Posted on 6/24/19 at 9:05 am to whitetiger1234
Because it's painful to the ears.

I'm sure the culture much of it promotes is a huge turnoff for many.
I mean....Name another musical genre that features open street warfare between "artists".

Because cursing into a microphone is not music.
So every song that has cursing it isn't music?
You really can't lump all rap together. There is trash rap in which there are some simply lyrics.. And curse words are thrown in just to make things flow, but not all cursing is equal.
Cursing is used to express emotion. If you are someone who is just against cursing and the second you hear a word you don't approve of you don't want anything to do with it, then it's not for you, but there are other types of music that use the same language.
It's not nearly as extreme as a lot of rap songs, but the country singer Maran Morris has songs in which she drops a few curse words.

People hate things they don't understand. that isn't really dependent on age, toddlers throw tantrums about the dumbest things.

I'm over 40, and most people my age grew up when rap became popular. I don't get the sense many of them hate it.
People over around 55 do hate it, and best I can tell most of that hatred is rooted in racism.

Rap is for people without the ability to sing. If you can't sing, you shouldn't be in music. Rap is just bad poetry. Who the hell likes poetry?
