Unfortunately, the second girl I dated (first was much older than me) was a girl I REALLY liked in HS. She would have been a great match, but was dealing with her own heavy shite and stopped communicating with me except for the occasional like on instagram and a random message here and there. C’est la vie! Keep trying.

Another thing that’s weird for me is that I’m a musician, and a lot of the songs that I wrote and still perform regularly were written about her. She’s still involved with the band so I still see her all of the time, but she’s often bringing her new boyfriend around. It definitely feels like a major slap in the face even though I know it’s not intentional, especially since I don’t even hate the guy. Afterall, he’s also a big fan of my music and super nice, which just makes it even weirder. I’d almost rather hate the guy. It would make me feel more justified in how upset I get seeing her with someone else even though I don’t really want to be in a relationship with her ever again.
It’s hard to explain how weird it is to sing a love song to a crowd about a girl who kicked you to the curb while she’s watching you sing it. It’s almost as weird as her boyfriend telling you how much he loves that angry breakup song you wrote about the two of you. It’s f$&king weird.
