Never said I disagree with you.

June 19th

So no 3 day weekend...

Basically just a day where the bank and post office is closed. Good for them I guess.

I’ve got no problem with this, that doesn’t mean I’m ok with all this other bull shite...and I think a lot of people’s adverse response are just because they’re sick of that other shite (like CRT) shoved down their throat.

Fine with me. However it’s insane to keeping adding holidays. Add one only if you take one away.
Plenty dumb ones to get rid of.

I guess Juneteenth is about as worthy as Columbus Day

I'm for it... Nice weather to have a free day off

I just hope it's a real federal holiday and not just a day the banks and government employees get to take off while the rest of us have to work.

Did they really make it June 19th specifically?

A lot of states (like Louisiana) are using "Third Saturday of June" in order to make sure it never causes office closures.

Slavery was already illegal in a majority of the US states by the time the 13th amendment was ratified.

certainly more so than President’s Day.

Actual name is Washington's Birthday but was combined with Lincoln in 1968. NOT for all the presidents.

This year, my company is giving us 4-hours off for “reflection.” I work for a Bank, so I’ll never say “no” to another holiday.

Who cares, civil servants barely work as it is; they have just about a day off a week at this point for every so called "holiday". Going to a bank is pointless, mail....please.

Dog and fricking pony show to placate to the fricking proggies.

Pretty sure it was illegal in a majority of the US states when the Civil War started.

I may be the only one, but I'm okay with this being a federal holiday.

It's worth remembering and honoring the date on which Republicans told democrats they could no longer own black people.

but can we please not officially call it "Juneteenth", and chose a name that doesn't butcher the English language?

Portmanteaus are a thing, bro. No butchery involved here.

Do you refuse to use words such as "email", "wifi", "hazmat", and "brunch" for similar butchery of your sacred language?
