Not a member of either but have to be familiar with the channel.
Sam's carries like 5000+ items. Bulk and deep discount.
Costco is a 1900 item chain that does things like flowers or other occasion based items.
That doesn't help you but that's what I know about the two.

Trying to decide on Sam's vs. Costco myself
Any help appreciated
I mainly would only buy food from there. And household goods like shampoo, soap, etc
Costco has better quality and more higher end brands.
They are transitioning to no hormone and antibiotics for all meats.

The only thing I don't like about Costco is they do not accept American Express.

I had Sams for years. Then I visited Costco. Big difference. Better products, better selection and much better customer service and clientele. I go once a month and spend about 250.00. We like it.

Is the stuff really that much cheaper than Walmart? I'd mainly be just buying things like soap, detergent, paper towels and such. I do most of my food shopping at eithe Rouses, Calvins or Whole Foods (when I really want to feel like an OT baller
).
I'm a bachelor so one big arse pack of something last a long damned time for me.

I kind of feel like that's somewhat what you're paying for.
I didn't have to buy garbage bags for over a year, maybe 2. Not worrying about shite like that is valuable to me.

It's overrated. Rather just pay a bit more for a better shopping experience. Costco only attracts a marginally better clientell than Walmart
Wut? Probably more of a reflection of where you live

Yes Eddie I'm serious. I like my cash rewards from Amex on fuel and food.

Gas, pizza and the frozen lasagna for $10 is worth the membership

I'm just surprised they don't accept AmEx. Hell, my drug dealer accepts AmEx!

Sucks

It's the only way to really complete your transition to an OT Poor.

Costco had an exclusive with Amex but kicked them to the curb last year for a deal with Citi. They take all Visa cards now, but their branded card is a Citi with special perks.

The hotdogs....ohhhh the hotdogs

I do Costco just for the cheap gas alone.
The other cost savings are pretty good and the food and liquor selection blows Sams Club away

Great meat, produce, hot dogs, and MILFS.

Sams takes American Express and membership costs less. Also, scan and go app to skip the cash register.

Costco travel rental car prices saves more than the cost of membership easily

The price of gas at Costco can be up to 10¢ cheaper than anywhere else Uptown
If you and your wife did nothing but get gas that would pay for the cost
For families you'll see big savings of paper towels, toilet paper, snacks for the kids, medicine, and toiletries
The meat is very nice quality and cheaper than any grocery store in the area
The the kirkland brand liquors are fantastic and incredibly cheap
Costco has a great wine selection that is also very cheap
They sell clothes at a really good price
If y'all are planning on buying a TV they run some pretty impressive sales
Honestly, the only downside is learning to exercise restraint. I can promise you 100% you will end up walking out of the store with stuff you didn't even know existed walking in.
