Many in my friend, co-worker world look at me like I have 4 heads when I say I don't have one. It's not that I have been anti-costco/sam's... just never educated myself on the benefits.

Uptown shotgun, couple kids, all normal circumstances.

Am I missing out? Make a case for me to head down Carrolton and sign up

Cheap gas and drugs (otc and prescription) is enough to make it worth it.

It's overrated. Rather just pay a bit more for a better shopping experience. Costco only attracts a marginally better clientell than Walmart

The liquor store is legit but you don't need a membership for that

You either go to a really unusual Wal-Mart or a really unusual Costco. Or, you just want to be a contrarian.

No liquor stores in Louisiana. You have to go in to buy anything.

It's worth it for sure. I'm just too tired to list reasons other than prices and high quality Kirkland signature products.

Sam's sucks. But it's better than Wal-Mart or harps for most products.

Trying to decide on Sam's vs. Costco myself

Any help appreciated

I mainly would only buy food from there. And household goods like shampoo, soap, etc.

I'm going with the latter.

Prime steaks. Even their choice will do. I also use their premium gas. I buy a lot of other stuff there like paper towels and tide, but the meat alone is worth it.

I said it has a marginally better clientele than Walmart and stand by that. It's a frickin warehouse not the ritz

I haven't been to Sam's in a long time, but from my experience Costco sells better quality merchandise. The store brand at Costco is really good on most products and far better than the Sam's store brand.

Membership is only $55 for the year. Basically the cost of going out the eat one time. You'll make that back easily in savings if you have kids.
