Kids are worth less normally.

5 people burned alive.... 3 small children.... dude. Really?
Did he pour the gas and light the fricking match?

John Robie, a pastor and volunteer Ascension Parish firefighter, testified in a negligent homicide trial that he was eastbound on I-10 between the Highland Road and Prairieville exits when he saw headlights cutting across the median toward him.
After the out-of-control pickup struck the car carrying the five victims, Robie said, he pulled over and headed back to the crash scene.
“The vehicle burst into this ball of fire that was unimaginable."
The "crash" didn't kill them, the gas leak and ignition killed the people inside.

the pickup then plowed head-on into the 1997 Acura with five people inside.
5 people in a 15 year old Acura. That Acura has current safety standards?
It's like a drop of water is on the ground and 1,000 people walk over it with no issue, and even 1 that "slips" doesn't lead to anything but a "whoa"....then you have a 100 y/o grandma with osteoporosis going shopping and she gets close to the water drop and breaks her hip is 10 places......"you are negligent to have a water drop on the ground"....no mitigating circumstance is acknowldged?
Hurricane Katrina, was it the storm or levy construction that caused the "real issue"? Should the storm be sued or the amry of engineers who made shite levys?

If the policies were small enough, insurance may have tendered and gotten out before trial.
That's what raised my eyebrow about Marionneaux taking this one to trial.
There's zero chance there was anywhere near the amount of coverage for this.
I'd be surprised if either em had much more than minimum limits.
No idea why they'd bother just to get a moral judgment.

You think having "3 or 4" had noting to do with it?
Rage only happens when you drink?
Have you never driven aggressivly when someone cuts you off or something infiriating?
You people are so simple, there can be a million reasons that something happens, but if you see a BAC it was 1000% due to alcohol.

why do we want to look at the "reason" versus just the result?

The judge heard all the evidence and concluded it did.
You read an article and decided that the crash didn't kill all those people, the fire did and even if it did it wasn't worth no 5 million dollars!

First year in law school they teach you torts and the "but for" analysis. And they do it for a reason

Your posts are so full of retard. You have no clue. The crash didn't kill them the fire did? You realize the fire happened because this a-hole crashed into them right? You realize he crashed into them because he was in a road rage fight with the other driver? Why in the frick are you sticking up for this guy? Is this your brother or something? or are you just dumb?

Well this is a dumb arse statement. But this is the OT where DWI is cool

By his reasoning, there is no murder. Ever. The mechanism of injury was the bullet piercing the heart, but we're not going to look at the chain of events that lead it to get there. Just the end result, not the actions leading up to it.
what a fool

One of the victims family are close friends with our family. It's been a nightmare ordeal for them. The court cases took forever and the sentencing was dragged out as well. Just zero opportunity for closure. The first responders on the scene all wept in court recounting the screams of them all burning to death. Neither of the drivers did much in the way of time.
5.5 million doesn't even scratch the surface. It was a road rage pissing contest that cost the lives of innocent people in a most horrific way.

If evidence showed she was playing candy crush when the accident occurred? I understand the "law states" argument that many are trained to hide behind, it just seems odd that there's no "victim blaming".
(how long does this take)Guy spun out from far shoulder, went accross the median, HIT a semi-truck trailer, and then spun to hit the car head on......did she tap her brakes at all during that time? Was she aware something was happening and took ANY evasive action?
Whatever
Posted on 11/16/16 at 9:39 pm to Kujo
You're now blaming the victims? Seriously, you're an actual retarded person right, like no IQ?
Posted on 11/16/16 at 9:40 pm to Kujo
Wow, you're still going, huh? If your arguments were slightly less nonsensical I'd respond, but I'm honestly not sure how to address them.
