They should set up heroin safe injection sites, oh wait, they already did that

Brought to you by the federal government.
Was there a prescription drug epidemic? Yes. But their moves killed a spider with a baseball bat. And the spider had babies on its back.
Making Norco/Hydrocodone/Vicodin a triplicate caused the prescription world to spin off its axis. It made Norco as valuable on the street as OxyContin and made OxyContin top shelf. Then when the prescriptions dropped off, Heroin popped up. Reviving a problem of the 70’s and 80’s. When Heroin supplies got low cartels found fentanyl and carfentanyl (veterinarian grade) that I’d never heard of.
I still do not understand lacing EVERYTHING with fentanyl though. Cartels are evil but they are smart. Killing off customers makes no sense. Dead people can’t pay??

It’s one of the most horrible things that has happened to Americans en masse in generations. If it hasn’t directly affected someone you know and love, it will. I’m scared to death to raise my kids in it’s era. It’s absolutely awful and there’s not enough being done to stop it.
Every dollar spent in Ukraine should be directed towards stopping this shite here in the US.

Thanks to America basically decriminalizing open drug communities in major cities there’s no shortage of addicts and junkies for them to keep pushing fentanyl into.
Addicts and junkies have been plentiful, long before decriminalizing efforts began a few years ago. Being "tough on crime" for users doesn't do much good.
The small towns where they still bust folks for any amount of drugs are still full of meth-heads and oxy-eaters.

I understand that. I did dumb shite too but was too scared to do the drug stuff. High school in the mid 70s. Also had a large fear of my old man.
I don’t have a real answer for getting kids to reconsider using recreational drugs.

This may be the end of the war on drugs. Kill off the ones that can’t stop and scare the rest that are thinking about trying.

Seems pretty easy to avoid.
Don't do drugs unless they are your own.
Kids need that drilled into their head. It isn't like the old days anymore and it never will be again.

Adulterated booze didn't kill prohibition in the manner you're describing.

So fentanyl use has increased over 7 years? Shocking.
Drug trends change over time.
For me to up the amount of shits I have to give, show me total overdose deaths in each year as a percentage of the population.

The homeless junkie population has exploded since the pain pill, opioid crisis took off. It wasn't like this even 15 years ago and almost no decent sized city is immune.

I don't completely understand the fentanyl thing...why would you intentionally poison/kill your customer base, even for increased profits ... that won't work longterm.
Some teen goes and buys a Percocet, never has done fentanyl. Well the Percocet pill is a fake pill pressed with fentanyl that has similar markers as the real pill. Well that teen has zero tolerance and just dies.
And these are all coming up from our open border.
But if you are in Seattle and taking opioids, you probably voted for Biden.

There was over 100k overdose deaths last year.
Now here is something to compare and something they want to regulate more than our southern border…

In 2020, the most recent year for which complete data is available, 45,222 people died from gun-related injuries in the U.S.
Oh dang, so do you care now while they strip my god given rights away?
Our priorities are completely fricked in this country.

Yep. I have a kid in high school and have talked to her about this several times. But you still worry about your teenager doing something stupid. I know I didn't anyways listen to my dad at that age because I already knew everything about life

If you don’t do drugs you don’t have to worry about fentanyl killing you. Fentanyl is just culling the herd for us.
