Frankly I find it surprising that any of them were able to last 3 months without income.

And holding out for 3 months. That means that being a barista must have been their whole life and whole identity.
Every other service industry worker worth a shite would have had a new job the following week.
Makes you wonder what it was all for.

The WNBA thinks this is a sound collective bargaining strategery.
It's a little different for them, they have a profitable daddy legally bound to keep them afloat.

Because they want to work as a barista, and get paid 50k+ a year with benefits. And no coffee shop is going to do that for a job meant for high school and college students
So Starbucks was likely their highest paying option and instead of realizing they had hit their ceiling, they went on strike. Makes sense

Why the hell would you strike as a barista and not just quit to work as a barista for another company? I honestly can’t imagine that mind frame.
Because no other fast-food establishment would hire them with similar pay and benefits. From what I've heard the latest gripes are about having to have "a uniform", wanting set schedules, and trying to force management to hire more staff to ease the workload.
And the uniform is simply a solid black shirt/top, and clean and unripped pants, khakis, or jeans.

Why?
They probably still live in their parents basement.

Life is tough. It's tougher when you are stupid.

If you can learn how to do your job in under a week, you represent no real value to an organization.

These same dipshits striking because Starbucks is violating their rights are probably out protesting the death of the Ayatollah.

My SO has an employee (medical field related) that was mistakenly given a promotion by HR, it went like a month without anyone noticing, no bump in pay so payroll didn't see it. Wife had a meeting with HR and payroll and went ahead and legitimized the promotion, although it was probably a year early. Now the employee is pissed and wanting that month of back-pay for the promotion she didn't really get instead of being thankful she got the real promotion a year early.

Many also want to go down in history and think they could be the story that changes the world

I mean, that one’s a hell of a mixup and if she was doing the new job…. Seems she probably should’ve been paid as such
