Beginners question for Colorado skiing. I have only been skiing in West Virginia. Looking to go to Colorado for the first time late in March. Looking for a good spot to bring my sons and wife to learn. Any recommendations for a less crowded resort with good beginners terrain? Figured it was time to experience skiing on something that is not ice. Looking to drive in from the south and make it a sight seeing vacation with 2-3 days of skiing. Looked at Ski Cooper and Copper Mountain.

Copper is less crowded than the other Summit County resorts since it isnt Epic Pass.
Steamboat and Crested Butte would be good as well but they are harder/more expensive to get to.

Arapahoe was great yesterday, bit cold and windy but the powder was great.
Heading back to DIA now

Looking to go around March 25th. Is the skiing still good at that time. I know it is a holiday week, so hoping to find a place not so crowded to get run over.

Snow should still be fine, im going up that week as well.
On actual weekdays nothing is that crowded

Copper was empty and deep. Caught rope drop off their TBar - Storm King. Fourth tracks down Spaulding Bowl. Wide open powder. Then the powder in the trees at Resolution Bowl was unreal.
Made some great laps. Probably hardest I've ski'd all year. Off to work now.

Love Jackson as it is a launch pad to Big Sky, et al.

Steamboat has been unbelievable. Surprise dump last night. 10" on top of 30" in past week. Bottomless champagne powder.

Hope it keeps that up for just a couple more weeks. Will be in Steamboat for Mardi Gras.

Sun came out after lunch for a bluebird afternoon. Plenty of powder still left.

This is so lame, but it looks great out there nonetheless. I rode Vail yesterday and it was an amazing day

I just fit all my crap in jacket. Usually only have a flask, snack bars, keys, cell phone, wallet etc though. Not sure why youd need a backpack.

i rather carry those things in a bag. plus any fruit, water, etc. probably be with my wife and other fam as well to store other stuff. simply preference i guess.

Backpack would just annoy me sitting on a lift.
How bout a fanny pack?
