Monday is looking to be great. I'm working some this weekend to get Monday off and ride Vail or Beaver Creek
I use my splitboard backcountry pack even when I go to resorts. I can keep water, snacks, avy gear to go out of bounds, and a few other things. It's comfortable and serves it's purpose. Currently on sale for $70 from Burton

i always would flip it around to my front side. it's small enough to put on your chest or hold in front.
then again i used to not be a gaper. (am i doing this right?)

Was this you Cosmo?

Skiers and snowboarders often don't see eye to eye, but one skier who shared a chairlift with a snowboarder took things to a new level Sunday at Aspen Highlands.
The skier, a white man in his late 20s or early 30s, took offense to a seemingly innocuous comment by the snowboarder sitting next to him and threw the man off the Loge Peak chairlift, said Seth Beckton of Aspen, the snowboarder who was pushed.
Beckton said he fell face-first 20 to 25 feet to the ground, but fortunately landed in a "large pocket of snow" and was not injured.

We have some good storms coming to the Rockies. Sunday is looking like a foot plus of powder potentially. Anyone getting out there this weekend?

No weekend skiing for me. Gotta work today and tomorrow. Vail on Monday. Should be a good one.
Might go east of the divide and chase pow at Eldora one day. Though, Wolf Creek is the spot to be in a few days. Couple feet projected.
In another news, I'll be moving to Steamboat in May!

The incident occurred at about 9:30 a.m., though Beckton, 28, did not report it until the end of the day. He said he was initially shaken by the incident and in a bit of shock, but since he wasn't injured, he decided not to let it ruin his powder day
That's dedication

Riding Wolf Creek Feb 23-28 because the almanac said so.
Not a fruit booting skitard though.

Jackson hole with another 17 inches. Gonna be a banner year boarding this year.

I really enjoyed Jackson Hole.
It reminds me of Mammoth, CA - steep and rocky on top.
Jackson Hole is also a great launch pad to Big Sky, MT.

I must be an old timer, because back in my day it was called snow plowing or wedging not pizza.

Im probably not the best person to ask, I havent been to anything other than a Vail resort in like 5-6 years.
On a weekday with no crowds I will always take Vail.
For a longer trip with friends i like Breck because it has the best nightlife.
Havent been to Park City since it merged with Canyons but I bet its incredible.
Heavenly was great for a long weekend, walked across street to gondola from the Casino i was staying at. Heavenly is gorgeous from the top, looking down at the Lake surrounded by mountains, really is like heaven.

Aww, you're just chasing tail then. I guess that's why my cousin moved there and hasn't returned in 6 years.

Still snowing. Been to Vail the last two Monday's and it's been amazing. Powder days and no lines. Sunday should bring a new storm after this one ends. We are supposed to get a few inches each day through the end of the week as well.
Hucked a few boulders and cliffs in Blue Sky Basin.
Iron Mask Boulder.

You didn't ask but here you go:
Tier One - Big Mountain Skills or Hospital Bills:
Big Sky, MT - All you want in a big mountain. Vast amounts of untracked snow. Get the tram to the top and stay up there.
Base amenities are small but there are enough bars to get you warm.
Mammoth Mountain, CA - Rocky and steep. Its hairy up top and scary is what I like. Good terrain park and half pipes. Very crowded lift lines on the weekends and limited base amenities.
Jackson Hole, WY - Steep runs and reminds me of Mammoth in many ways. Some of the chair lifts ascend ridiculously and are super exposed. Thrilling. Again, limited base amenities but acceptable.
Steamboat Springs, CO - Family friendly, champagne powder but stay up above the top of the gondola or on the backside or you'll be surrounded by half wits and torn up groomers. Good public transportation to a town full of amenities. Hot Springs are also legit.
Tier Two - (in no particular order)
Grand Targhee, WY - Gets really foggy some times. Cheaper lift tickets than Tier One. Decent runs. Small mountain but a good stop inbetween Jackson Hole and Big Sky.
Copper Mountain/Breckenridge, CO: I lumped these two together because of their similarities and approximation in distance. Both get crowded on weekends and have decent untouched stashes if you can find them.
Wolf Creek, CO - Tons of snow. Chest deep powder and relatively short lift lines. Amenities at the base are very limited and it's a twenty to thirty minute ride to town for lodging, et Alia.
Keystone, CO - Another family oriented resort. Great base amenities and it even offers night skiing that's included in an all day pass. Has a natural terrain park that is larger than life.
Im probably missing a few but my wall of text should suffice.

Going in 7 days
Chose it b/c of the kids attractions and the night skiing, but I've never been before. My condo is the closest possible to the Peru lift and ski school, so I am crazy excited about that. 20" of snow the past 7 days is pretty awesome to.
I. Can't. Wait!

You'll have a blast. Keystone is a very convenient resort. Happy trails.
