It looks like I'll need to buy a separate bag for the boots, or at least that's what I'm seeing on amazon

You just fit your boots in with your bag with all your other crap

And id recommend wrapping your jacket, long underwear etc around your skis for extra padding

I have the Dakine double bag because you can fit all in one, but when you do there's tons of room for all your gear you'd possibly need but you can't fly it without an overweight fee. I think the single/xtra boot at is probably better

Yeah, the airline counts a ski bag plus boot bag as one check in item, and it seems like it'd be less of a clusterfrick than throwing all the gear in the ski bag

Yep, skis, boots, poles, bindings, helmet, jacket, pants, gloves, goggles weigh in at like 43lbs. You should easily be able to fit that in a single Dakine + boot bag

The. Put all you other clothes in a carry on. Boots in a carry on sucks btw I'd just buy the boot bag

We spent all day in the outback area of keystone and had a blast, some great powder on the tree runs. The bowl had some good snow too.

Headed to A-Basin this weekend, first time ive ever been.

I love A-Basin. Mainly front range folks, you can ski to your car in the lot to grab a beer and lunch, and just far fewer people and less of a hassle overall compared to other places. I think I am going to hit Breck Saturday and either Keystone or A-Basin Sunday. Breck snow reports on opensnow are currently slightly better, so there should be some good snow on peak 6

Made it out to 4 pines this afternoon. Was wondering about half way through the hike if it was going to be worth it with all of the other easily found powder. Some of the best skiing I've ever had. Spent the last few days exploring rock springs, and why not. Will be with a group catching 8:20 tram Friday morning. Will be

Spending most of the day outside the south gates. Let me know what lift/run you'll be working and I'll try to stop by.

Corsair and the Burn off of Peak 10 Falcon Superchair at Breck are both awesome right now if you can manage the top rocky, sketchy parts. Deep powder tree runs.

Now if you want a real stash, nipple deep powder in the trees at Copper off Resolution Bowl. Holy hell. Wednesday was amazing. Deep snow and like 38 degree temps.

But right now, I'm actually in NOLA for a bachelor party for like 38 hours before I head back to the mountains.

You are going to miss some damn good snow this weekend, but I'm sure NOLA for a bachelor party won't be so bad either

Spent the day skiing with Jeff Zell. Guy is a tremendous skier, if you ever get a chance to make a lap with him go for it. Was much more crowded outside the gates today. Avalanche forecast "considerable" didn't seem to keep anyone away from the steep stuff. Saw some people hit ridiculous lines.

If you rode the early boxes you were standing at Corbets Cabin with some of the best riders in the world. Jess Mcmillan had a quick webisode outside on the deck before you rode up. JHMR is like the north shore of Hawaii for skiing in North America. So I would assume you were seeing people skiing for shots. I myself got 10 tram laps today and everyone was reasonably healthy other then the Gondi today. Its about to start going nuclear here tomorrow!!!
