I knew 2 people closely who died from Covid, one 36 , one 53. I wouldn't say that either were "perfectly healthy", but wasn't so unhealthy that a virus should have killed them.

Taking the vaccine was the right choice for me and I'm glad I did. Maybe not taking it was right for you. What business is it of mine? What business of yours is my decision?

My older brother and mother got the jab. I didn’t trust the timing of it so I passed. My brother has regrets and I don’t so I’ll chalk it up as a win in my case.

I got mine since it was the only way I could visit my grandfather in the hospital/nursing home.
I was indifferent to getting it. On one hand I felt good about my chances of surviving if I caught covid, on the other, the medical field portion of family were telling to get it.
Funny enough, I don't think anytime I wanted to go see my grandfather I actually needed to show the "proof of shot" card. I could've just lied every time they asked.

Therein lies the rub.
There was much coercion... from Free Donuts, to the Fauci Ouchi badges, to the mask shaming of the unvaxxed, to the Winter Of Death to the mandates that lasted just long enough to make people fearful of their livelihoods and family financial wellbeing... so much coercion from all facets of public and private life.
I agree with you, anyone that took it of their own volition - I've no judgement for them... but the multilayered coercion leaves me wondering just how many really took it without the "nudge".

People were fired because they refused to inject an experimental vaccine with known side effects.

True. Very true... but... there's no proof that this rushed, new fangled formulation of a *vaccine didn't, either.
Yes, the mRNA had been researched and known for a bit- but covid was its first public debut and on such a large scale.
There was a time when Oxycontin, Vioxx and other things were perfectly "safe" too... in all reality, time will tell.
One thing I know- the vax isn't on my worry list because I didn't take it.
OTOH, I definitely got "sick" once... for all I know, that one illness might not be any better or safer.
I didn't CHOOSE getting sick though, so at least I'll have that small comfort if my health went sideways.
